    Hey all,

I've got a 2016 DC TRD CPO lined up. It has new brakes and rotors. It's $34,900 OTD. ($32,200 before anything) It feels high but I can only get one better deal for $33k OTD in similar condition but in a second choice color. I went from wanting a truck to needing a truck very quickly as my car was just lost in the flood last week.

I shopped around new and the best I could get was $39k plus everything else, so around $42k OTD. Everything I read says get at least ten percent off sticker so 39-40 is about right, but they must not mean aim for 10 percent off sticker OTD? Or do they? I'm in the north east and we are not flooded with these trucks at all. They are almost rare really. There's less than 100 CPOs in any condition in the 150 mile radius.

I have a phenomenal f150 lined up but I really want a tundra. I can't really swing for brand new even if I were to get this 40k OTD anyway. Any last second advice before I either get A) hustled or B) a Ford

Never concern yourself about OTD. First of all, it's different wherever you go depending on taxes, registration fees, etc. Always deal with the cost of the vehicle. The only thing to worry about OTD is if the dealer tries to add crap like protection plans and other unnecessary add ons.

Ok, I get that and actually just read that from an old post on this forum. So I guess let's look at it as $32,200 only. Basically 7-8k off best price I could get brand new. I might go for the red one at $30,400 though but I want grey I think. F150 is red but it doesn't have all the chrome business

If it’s grey you want, them don’t settle. Get what you want no regrets

I agree with the previous poster - if it is something you are going to look at and be unhappy with, do not settle. The color MAY grow on you but it may not too and everytime you look at it you just have that "meh, wish it was grey".
Being from PA, those prices sound just about spot on. I was looking for a used one, but the used ones I was seeing that were in the condition I wanted, were 35k+. We ended up just ponying up for a new one for just a little more.
Only you can know what you can and can't do money wise - I would for sure give a new one a look. Through Toyota financial you are looking at 0% for 60 months or 1.9 for 72 months. That used truck (unless you are paying cash/financing just a small amount), will range up to 4-5% interest rate.

    Hard to comment without mileage.

Price reflects that CPO. What does CPO actually equate to?

Also if at Toyota dealer they will ask premium prices to push buyers toward new.

Paint jobs are more expensive than the 1500 difference, that’s just my opinion. Get what you want

Get the Tundra in your color and you be more than happy than having a Ford in the color you didnt want.

Sorry boys 32k miles. They replaced brakes and rotors among other things when it was certified.

I like red in the f150 actually. I really like the f150 but it's ford. I already accept it's going to do something stupid or have some stupid problem at some point. I could get lucky but I'd rather assume the worst with them.

I checked the red tundra. The paint is too beat up. Going to buy the grey tundra tomorrow!

on average they say that your payment changes around 16 bucks a month per 1k borrowed. if that's the case a couple of those dont matter. keep in mind that if you are able to pay cash for the tax tag and title you dont finance that for 5 yrs.

also if you are have to be at a certain monthly payment, the cost to fuel will add a significant amount to your expense along with the insurance.

the fords are nice lots of bells and whistles, but qdr is not fords expertise. when you get fed up with it and try to trade it for a tundra you will be rolling over mad negative equity which will in turn blow the budget unless you are looking for an 03 tundra at that time lol.

My thing is I hate paying interest on things, it's a waste of money. Used car interest is usually at least double new car. Not sure what Toyota is doing now but mine is 0.9 % best used car rate at the time was 5% with good credit of course.

    I would buy a 2002 tundra before a 2019 f150
    That should tell you enough

Ha Ha! I totally agree. Every day I miss my 2002 and wish I could have found a reason to own two trucks when there is only 1 of me... I don't miss not getting a F150 instead.

At the dealership, looking at $37,500 for a SR5 DC w/ TRD package. I think this is a good deal boys.

Just spoke to a business guy Thursday. Said he's stranded in Indianapolis cuz his F150 with 40,000 miles is making huge noise from the engine and doesn't want to drive it due to warranty concerns. Will be next week before local dealer will look at it.
