I received a set of bushwacker pocket flares from a buddy. I attached them to the truck with some leftover screws that I had in the shop but I'm not quite sure if its correct. I attached a picture of the clips for the liner that I screwed them into (again not sure if its correct. And the clip pictured is an extra one in the liner) I also need to know where to get the top brack for the front flares. I didn't have any screws on the truck other than the lower ones on the front fender. What would yall recommend I do to get these on properly? If yall know of an installation kit I can use that would be grea . I checked the bushwacker site and wasn't able to find what I think I needed.

Call Bushwacker for the hardware kit.

I also have fender flares I have bought two sets already front fender flares I screw just the bottoms and center that use existing hardware when u get to screwing the top they use some clips that screws attach to because no factory holes up top..the clips rust easy so I just screws the screws on to the top liner which u cant see..when I bought my second set of fender flares I decided to not even worry about screwing the top you dont need it just my advice hope this helps

    Your story sounds like mine!
Bought some Bushwackers off CL. Seems as though when bought brand new, they come with a bracket for the fronts.
The guy I bought them from swore he didn't have a bracket. Who knows...maybe some of the fender wells are different from year or model? Whatever the case, I need the bracket.

I searched for weeks, contacted Bushwacker, a few dealerships, etc. No dice. 'And when talking to Bushwacker….of course...………..they do NOT sell them separate from the flares and the hardware kit does NOT include the brackets. o_O

I even asked them, what would someone do in the event that one of the brackets broke???? They couldn't answer me.
    So my search continues...

Check out the video below, to see them. Start around 2:50.
The bracket goes on first, then it looks like there's other attachment points on the bracket for the flares to bolt onto.

Some models come with brackets but u dont need them just screw on to liner or dont use the top screws it's the same..if u use the bracket it will give u a bit more right fit that's the only difference

Take a look through this thead https://www.tundras.com/threads/diy-wheel-well-liners.21418/ I did on wellwell liners, in it I did replace my screws for the rear because of wheel well installation. You can get them from any auto-body supply store, also because I live in Minnesota I would put a dab of silicone on the treads to prevent rust .

So I found these on Ebay

    https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/381993753614

I figured that all the kits I was able to find (none included the brackets for the front) were all around $60- $70. I went ahead and bought thes . I now have the brackets and all the hardware plus a new set of flare . I plan to either sell the free set I got or keep them in case something happens to these one.

Will do. So far they fit perfect. And look great. I'll post up some pics when I get some.

    Oh...so you already got them?!
I though you were just buying them now. Def. like to see some pics.

You think the quality of the plastic of the brackets is pretty good?

Yeah I got them last weekend. I put the back set on, haven't replaced the front ones yet. Planning on doing that tomorrow at work. They seem to be very sturdy. They are injection molded plastic. They have just enough flex to get a nice tight fit but not too much to make them too flimsy. Once I replace the front ones I'll snap some pictures.

Hi mate, I bought fender flares on facebook market but unfortunately it did not come with the front brackets. Can we still hook the flare without brackets on the front fenders (3rd gen Tacoma)? Does anyone know where to get the brackets as parts?

    Hello guys,

I got the fenders off the fb market but they are missing front brackets. Does anyone know where to get the brackets as parts? or does anyone installed them without brackets?

    Thanks

I spoke with Bushwacker a couple weeks ago, and they dont sell the front brackets individually because because the brackets and the flares are shot together. They told me if i need the front brackets, i could buy any of the front-only flares (oem or pocket) and grab the brackets out of that. That would run around $200ish.
There are also some cheap versions of bushwackers on Amazon and ebay for around $70-80 and the bracket looks just about the same....this is the route i'm thinking about going, but haven't yet.

Thanks Danimal86, it's really frustrating, I also called Bushwacker and they told me the same. we both are on same boat, please let me know if you chose the cheap model which comes with these brackets and I will also buy the same.

Will do, i'm not sure when i'll get around to ordering them....i still need to either get new wheels or get spacers before i add the flares. I'm not a fan of tucked in wheels with flares.
