Stay away from those things. they leak and not worth your engine. I never understood these, is it really that hard to remove a drain plug every 5000 miles?

Do you change the oil on the Tundra?

Haven't installed mine yet as I got it after oil change, but love the fact that that you can hook a hose to it and it doesn't get all over your wheel and stuff. That stuff comes out some force.

So what are the best after market ideas to facilitate an effective oil change?

    Isn't that a damn fact!!!

I have been using the same fumoto valve on several Toyota vehicles now. Not sure which one it will go on next, the Lexus or Tacoma.

My diesel will get one too. I made that mistake once on my 05 cummins and had 2.5 gallons of black filthy oil all over my driveway. Never again. After my free oil changes are up, fumoto valve will be ordered.

I love mine. I've had zero issues with it and the same goes for 3 years of oil changes on my FJ Cruiser when I had that. Below is how easy my oil changes are now..

I've used them and like them. I had one on my Honda insight as the oil pan was magnesium and a pain in the ass if overtorqued or stripped. I will eventually put one on the tundra. Never had a leak or a drip and I've used them on several cars and trucks. FuMoto and speed bleeders and life is good!

These are just ball valves. Will they leak over time? Sure. I don't know what that time limit is. My current one has a "few" oil changes on it without failure. A good guess with mileage on 3 different vehicles, my current fumoto valve has 58 oil changes on it.

The breaking off, sure. I'll go with that. Do I have one of these fumoto valves on my Jeep? No, there is a pretty good chance a rock will catch it and rip it off. Most average Joe doesn't Offroad their 40k dollar truck really hard. Same thing goes for my new 60k truck.

The fumoto valve is for the person that changes the oil themselves, plain and simple. I wouldn't put one on for a local shop tech. They have hard enough time not stripping out oil pans, swapping out the wrong oil or not refilling. I can't imagine an oil tech trying to figure out a ball valve drain plug.

I was just informing people that these leak. do it yourselfer or not it's not worth paying $30 for a valve then blowing up your engine, you could blow it up for free. no need for a quick release oil drain, just sounds dangerous

To each their own I guess. Even if they did leak, a person that isn't a complete moron is going to see there is fluids leaking

Personally, you're the first person I have ever heard complain about them. I'm on many sites that have discussed this very topic, and a Mod on a rather large diesel site.

I have had one on my Tacoma since the free oil changes ended. The only thing negative I can say is it takes longer to drain the oil. The wait time is made up on the back side because I can drain straight in to an empty jug. I just cap the jug an done. Now I would be concerned on a vehicle where the valve was exposed. Fortunately on the Tacoma it is well protected by the skid plate.
