I am looking for "audio" suggestions for a first gen....2003. Time to bring this old girl into the here and now. I have no problem replacing the whole stereo system....speakers and all, but at my age, not really interested in sub woofers, amplifiers, equalizers, or a system that will blow the seals on the interior trim or windows out! Lol. Just a decent stereo with Bluetooth, satalite radio, touch screen, etc..... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for the same input. Mine is stock with the JBL premium sound. Does the factory system have an amp? Read somewhere that they do? What size front speakers, 6 1/2 or 6 3/4?

yep bank account is running low from it..
JBL does have its own amp... They make a kit where you can still use the JBL amp to new headunit.... But IMO the factory JBL amp sucks even when you do a different headunit. Cheap internals on the JBL amp.

On mine I rewired the whole system do to me using amps not using the factory wiring.

I ordered a stereo from www.sonicelectronix.com and I must say I am very happy with it. The only thing I didn't get with the order since I wasn't sure what I needed was the harness that can go directly from the factory amp to the deck so that you don't have to bypass the amp to make the aftermarket work. I could have made the harnesses work that they sent me but I would have had to remove the factory amp to do use them and I didn't feel like doing all that. No cutting of any wires just plug and install. I didn't get a touchscreen but I did get a Sony with Satellite radio, CD player, bluetooth, aux input and usb so that all the ways of playing music are there. I got a great deal on it and will be eventually adding an additional amp and replacing the factory speakers. Crutchfield is also a good online source too. Just my recent experience after a lot of searching.
