Haha! I COMPLETELY understand...gotta love the kiddos! So the pipes don't change the sound? Why do ppl go with bigger exhaust when they change their muffler if they don't? I'm 44 I should know all this by now, but this is the one part of a vehicle I NEVER worked on or upgraded...everything else I'm all over like white on rice...but this is all new to me. Lol

Well I got my Flowmaster 40 installed this weekend. Sounds great! A little more drone than I wanted but its bearable. I have a TRD intake kit ordered so that's the next step...

I was told "no Corsa Touring Catback available" for my 2010. I pushed further and they sold me their Touring muffler for my Sport system. Great workmanship and sound from my Corsa caback. When I discovered Keith and his Exhaust Systems, I sold the Corsa and had him build a 10" single for me. Maybe I imagined it but from the first day, I noticed I needed less throttle with the BA system, than with the Corsa.I can only assume it's due to the stock tailpipe size that Keith uses just as he says. After a few years, I bought a Corsa style tip because of how I've always liked their appearance.

Bought the tip from Summit Racing. It's identical to Corsa's tip but without saying "Corsa" on it. Had to return the first one because of some damage but Summit exchanged it promptly at no cost to me.

After pestering Keith several times about the sound I was wanting, he assured me his 10" system would match Corsa's sound the best. As is usually the case, he nailed it. The resonator went on with the system install. Wasn't too bad to install the exhaust. I already had a head-start with loosening the fasteners from installing the Corsa. Half a can of Liquid Wrench on the bolts and lubing-up the Rubber Mounts certainly helped!:D

It clamped right over the pipe. Keep in mind this wasn't the stock exhaust pipe( with the silly flare on the end) but it was stock size. You'll need your tailpipe exiting at a 45 degree angle for the Corsa style tip to work. That's why I had to have an Exhaust Shop make-up a pipe and weld it on.

Count on the fact that Keith will do what's needed to build the exact exhaust you're after:thumbsup:

Great review. Thanks for the post!

Question for the op: You said the flowmaster put you back about $730 but they only list for about $230. Was the install $400?

On your budget kits what size tubing are you running in front of Muffler’s? Still 2” or did you go up at all?

I have flowmaster american thunder(with super 44) dual in/dual out and it rips.

I do get some drone at about 55mph/1500rpm but you get through it quick.
Highway cruising you can hear a slight rumble
When you jump on the pedal its on the edge of being aggressive
Cruising through town its got a good mellow growl that turns heads

The carven has a super bad ass sound, but the drone is unbearable. I plan to add something inline. Possibly a carven-tr muffler or a helmholtz resonator like those sold by bamufflers. I don’t know why theirs are so expensive. It’s just a piece of pipe.

Question, off the manifolds is the cats, the other bottles after the cats are the resonator yes? If so, anyone ever remove them just doing cat back kits?

Those should be the rear most cats. They are for emissions to eliminate the fuel smell and are a visual item on some inspections. Since they are after the O2 sensors, no worries about CEL if removed.

As far as sound, no idea. I'm still deciding if I am removing tham.

You gain sound and less restricted exhaust flow

You may fail a visual inspection if that is applicable to your state

This is an awesome review, and because of that I am ordering the muffler for my 2015 CM. I had the outlaw and drone was too much. I expect some drone with aftermarket mufflers, but don't want a headache. Looking for nice exterior growl and not too much interior drone. I am just having a shop cut out my Borla muffler ( yes I know, premium system, but too quiet for me) and having the 50 HD welded in along with new black tips. Cant wait!

Removed rear cats and sounds way better and exhaust smells no different. Rear cats seem more like a resonator with how much sound they block. Depending on what muffler setup you have depends on your sound. I have a single blackwidow race venom and it’s loud and barky.
