Hey guys, I just picked up my 2019 TRD PRO and while the truck looks bad ass, I feel as if I need to upgrade my tire package again...when I had it at the dealer, I initially was going to upgrade to 20" rims with larger nitto ridge tires. I was then informed by the dealer that I couldn't add the 20" rims and larger tires even with the stock TRD leveling kit. Therefore, i stuck with the stock TRD 18" rims and added a smaller size nitto ridge tire. Now, after a few days if riding around and checking out my truck from every angle here's what I've noticed... because I added the matte black trim flares, my tires seem to sit "inside" the wheel wells.

Here's my question, what would be the largest size nitto ridge grappler tire could I install whilst keeping my 18" rims?? And would I need to add the spacers to expand the tires outward by using spacers, or would a larger tire do that for me? If yes, what size spacer would I need, and where to get it from?

    Thanks,

    Neil

What size do u have on now? I’ve been researching this last week and I think the largest without tubing or having to trim anything is 285/70

With no mods, no trimming, no removing trim or anything, the best I can come up with agrees with Rustynailz above. I would have gone with 285/70-18 if they were available in the tire I wanted. Almost every other comment for anything bigger seems to come from someone with shims, spacers, offset or something other than stock TRD Pro. Some say a larger size works but others with the same larger size say they had to remove a small front flap or something like that. E.g. Watt Maker has a 1” lift in rear; may be right on 295’s, but others suggest rubbing with 295’s in some positions or with some tires. I wonder about the use of 295’s on an 8” wide wheel; probably ok but I think some sites say 295 means use an 8.5” wide wheel. Personally I would choose a narrower wheel to avoid rock/damage to the wheel if possible, but there are some places that say 295 means 8.5” wide. I went with 275/70-18 because my offroad is on rock or shallow mud over rock and the difference in size really will not matter much and I wanted a narrower tire in the rain (southeast Texas)

I'm currently running nitto ridge grappler P275/65R/18 but would like to go bigger, ideally to a 35" tire for a more aggressive stance. I was told I should be able to fit the 35's w little to no rubbing w out mods. My guess is the dealership didn't want to put anything on the truck out of spec, as I noticed my stock tires were the same size.

I'm running 285/70r18 Ridge Grapplers with 1" Bora spacers on the stock Pro suspension and wheels with no problems at all.

What tires are u running? I’ve been looking at some and a lot are 12” wide. Would that run into the uca? And do u have full range of motion with 295’s without rubbing

Atturo Trail Blade X/Ts they do run a bit skinnier than others like the nittos or toys. They are still big ass tires.

So if I went 295/70/18 I wouldn’t have to put spacers or trim anything? Might have to remove front mud flap.... with stock rims
now what tire? Falken wildpeaks, cooper a/t3 xlt, or the BF Goodrich at

I prefer the A/T M/T hybrids like Nitto ridge grappler, Toyo open country rt, Atturo Trail Blades etc.

No issue at all . But I went with the Bilstein 5160/6112 combo fro Boss Offroad (703) 719-4410 . Awesome guys . went with the 1.9 inch on the front and 1" in the back . I have it 1" higher in the back . but I like a little rake. I also went with their Shackles and to get the 1" . Their Shackles can be adjusted but I installed it at the 1" Here is the links to their shackles

Hello Tundras. Is it possible to combine both wheel and tire upgrade to a suspension mod like stronger and stiffer leaf springs in the rear with new upgrade stronger and stiffer lift shocks shackles wheel spacers and trd brake system rear and front as well for the front suspension. And also having air bags in the rear for more upload weight capacity? I'm at 7 ft height with Hankook Dynapro 35 12.50.18. I would love to lift it more at least another 12 inches with somer way wider wheels and taller but would like to go 21 inch wheels or at least 20's what do you recommend? Sorry to bombard with a lot of questions thanks in advance.
