I have one on hold and I'm flying outta state then driving it back 16 hours.

I'm starting to second guess myself now and I am wondering if it's worth all this effort.

It has low miles, looks immaculate online from the pics and video and it's in the Inferno color that I love.

I haven't had a new car or car payment in 12 years and I've been driving a honda element SC...and that the engine is pretty much toast.

I don't know if I'm just getting anxiety or what????

Ok.....I'm getting it for $37,800 with only 28.6K thousand miles....pretty low for four years.

If it’s a good deal and it’s the color you want then why not? Nothing wrong with a little road trip. Many ppl here have done the exact same thing. Sometimes it’s hard to find a deal in your area.

What are your plans for it? If you plan on ditching the suspension and wheels it might be worth it to try to find a non-pro and save some money. While I love the pro and how it looks many dealers seriously up charge the shit out of them. If you’re the type that really doesn’t want to mod their truck they just want a capable rig right off the show room, it’s a bitchin truck. It’s pretty easy to get the look of the pro by upgrading the grill and bumpers etc. It would save some coin. But if you’re looking to roll it all into one loan and be done with it the pro is ready to go LOL

Worst case scenario is you get there and it's not what was advertised. As long as you can walk away at that point, you're good.

Oh yeah, I already gave the salesman a shot across the bow when he asked me about my flight info....I'm like "Yeah, I booked a roundtrip ticket just incase it doesn't workout". He kinda sound puzzled and then went silent......lol.

I've been searching for Tundras high and low everyday for the last four months, so I know the market. What's amazing is that here in Florida for some reason dealerships here charge a premium for used trucks and then they want to throw so many BS fees on top of it.....it's crazy. I think I've walked away from about 8 dealerships when they started playing their games.

I guess they don't see someone like me everyday that knows all their tricks and games, especially when I know people who work in the industry too.

I have an 07 and it's about dead. Last friday I confired the cylinder 1 misfire was a bad cyinder after a compression test from the stealership. Then that same evening while waiting for about 20 minutes in the parking lot my AC stopped working but it was on and then I looked at the temp gauge and it was all the way at the top past H.....I've owned the car since new and it's never done that before. I've been having problems with it for almost year so I knew it was going bad....with almost 200K on the odo.........so I got my money's worth outta it. It just kinda makes me sad since I bought it brand new in 2007......I love that little box!!!!

I hope I love this new Tundra I'm getting.

Are there any places for you to go and visit during your 16 hour drive? Maybe turn it into a celebratory adventure vacation for two or three days instead of a 16 hour anger management drive.

Then you are happy in your bad ass truck and you use it as an excuse to go somewhere you might not normally go at the same time.

Not trying to get into your personal life but what is your route home? From where to where and how many days can you take? Meaning, “I have to work a day later” or “maybe three days”.

You're line of thinking is not wrong. I drove 12 hours round trip to find the exact truck I wanted for the right price.

    $37,800 + $400 plane ticket + $130 hotel (1 night) + $250 gas + $50 food = $38,630

For another $8k, you can get a 2019 with half the miles, 4 years newer, and 2.5 years of factory warranty. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-2019-Toyota-Tundra-TRD-Pro-ev2469#listing=240532483

I echo 15whtrd's advice. Knowing what I know now, I would have bought an SR5, bought mods, and still been in the black.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Well the roundtrip ticket was only $140.....I'm flying in early the same day I pickup the truck....so no hotel.

then add on the gas and food for $300

As far as the warranty is concerned, it's toyota certified for 7 years or 100,000 miles....limited to powertrain.
The first 12,000 miles covers everything on the truck.....

Here in Florida there's like two used TRD PROs in the whole state and I don't think they're crewmax either. Besides, the INFERNO color is very hard to find in the whole US in the crewmax.........but all the other colors seems more available.

Truck looks pristine. If Toyota Ever came out with Inferno color with on a Platinum trim, I'd be camping outside the dealership the night before of the release.

Go for it. I had a 2017 CM, but sold it 6 month later due to work (moved to Japan for 2 years) came back shopping for a truck, any truck as long as a Tundra, but as soon as I found the one I wanted I knew in 2 seconds that it was my truck. picked it up next day. Back in a 2017 limited CM with 19K miles and have zero regrets........Happy Happy Happy. Go for it

That may be because there is a low low inventory of used trucks. Last year (and year before?) Florida (and Texas) had huge, devastating floods. A LOT of trucks were lost in those events which had the effect of reducing the overall truck population. But you should also be sure to look for any signs of flood damage. As many many trucks involved in those floods have actually found their way into the used truck market and there may not be complete, above board disclosure. Be sure and check for signs of flood damage.

    O.K. Class dismissed.

My 2 cents: You discovered the market value of something, determined they are hard to find, popular and prices in your area are higher than what your going to pay by traveling? Wouldn't that mean if you bought this truck (which i think you should) decided it wasn't right for you then you could reasonably sell it losing if anything the gas money it took to get it home?

Also, If your traveling north of Florida 16 hours that brings you within a lot of worthwhile driving places I'm guessing. (I'm thinking Virginia parkway, Route 129 in east tennesse as one of the best roadtrips i've ever done).

Somethings you can't just buy. Like for instance the fenders that have the Pro stamped in them on a Infero Tundra (ok so you can buy them but they are expensive and you'd still have to find a infero tundra). So buying a non Pro and making it almost a pro isn't really a cheap way outta this.
