Black "wagon" wheels are okay, wish they made them for the Tundra. Not a big fan in general though, especially on a truck.

If black is played out then chrome/ brushed silver or most stock offerings is REALLY played out.
I like black wheels or some variation of black and other colors. I like that every Limited Tundra doesn't have the same boring wheels. It brings some individual taste to the vehicle.
I removed the “Limited” and “5.7” badges from my truck. Personally, I think it’s lame to advertise all that info and does nothing for the truck. Do you really need 4x4 on your tailgate? You know you have it so what the hell is the point?
Maybe they can start adding “4 wheel disc brakes” on the hood as well.
I really enjoy a nice customized vehicle.

Whoa! Never call it rust! That diminishes your vehicle value. Call it "patina".

Is it so hard to type "white"?

Black, brown, chrome, purple doesn't matter. Folks put what they think looks best on their trucks. I put black because it matched the black trim color on the truck (and something about a stormtrooper look :anonymous:). But if my truck was MGM or black, bronze would look good chances are I wouldn't have done black.

Black wheels look great no matter what color your vehicle is imo. Even on beater cars, it makes them more aesthetically pleasing, if only a little. Bronze and grey wheels look great, sure, but only on specific color vehicles. Chrome never looks good on any color, sorry not sorry. I always like it when people put a little color match in their wheels, makes them pop.

I love matte black wheels, clear aluminum wheels, and the occasional polished aluminum wheels. I don't care for chrome wheels, spinners or bronzed wheels, super-dished wheels, or any rattle can color job. When it comes to wheels, simpler is better. If all you look at is the wheels then you have done a poor job choosing them. Wheels should compliment the build without needing sunglasses or a magnifying glass. Black is awesome, a little overcooked at this point, but still awesome. You can matte them out, polish them up, or accent them very tastefully. You can also f@ck them up too with some variation of stupid... Gold does not belong on out trucks! I don't care for the bronze personally, but it looks great when done right.

On the practical side I think matte black rims hide rash repairs best because the paint match doesn’t need to be perfect. Like painted walls, the more sheen ie; chrome and alloy, the more defects can be seen.

I forget who here powder coated their stock alloy wheels but this looks great on his stormtrooper’d truck.

I don't dislike black wheels, I think it depends on the vehicle. Most cars now it seems to me are built around the wheel. Some vehicles look GREAT with black wheels while others look like they are trying to follow a trend that wasn't meant for them. Its like buying a suit nowadays, these skinny fit ultra tailored suits look great on 19-30 year olds but when you are 35 - 50 you just can't walk around with your balls in your throat because your suit is too tight.

But I wouldn’t want all-black wheels on my Tundra. As others have said, the wheel detail disappears too much for my liking.

Plus, some silver on the wheels keeps them FAST!!!

I had Matte powdercoated TRD wheels on my tacoma. I now have black gloss painted wheels on my tundra. The matte is harder to take care of and it gets kind of chalky looking over time was my only issue. They dont look clean for long.
