Looks great! I am sold on doing this to my front bumper caps and valance. Did you do the steps already? Would like to see pics of how they turned out. Good stuff!

Did nothing to treat the chrome except rub it in some places with some adhesion promoter for the 3M tape that they include with the package. It's a pretty snug fit. 3M tape towards the center of the bumper, two bolts mount it in the wheel well, and at the bottom it tucks underneath the black plastic. The top tucks in and just about touches the bottom of that piece between the chrome cap and the light fixture...it looks awesome as the gap now looks to be continuously white. There is still some air between the cover and the chrome cap through; you can feel it when you press in on the cover. I really don't see much water getting behind the cap (but I can't guarantee it), unless maybe you put a pressure washer tip right up to where the cover meets with the fog light housing. Here's some pics of the areas I'm talking about below. Also, I think these pics give a good indication of how well their stock gloss white covers match the factory paint, versus paying extra money to get super white 040 color matched covers.

Is that a Plano storage box? Been eyeing those on Amazon to replace my cheap Home Depot Rubbermaid box. Seems like a good middle ground between what I have now and more expensive Pelican/Yeti type stuff.

    big couple weeks :spending:

red tow hooks, TPO door handles, color matched mirror caps and TRD Pro grille, ARE overland shell, xpel wrap, xpel ceramic coating, and TPO bumpershellz. the chrome is all gone :D

SDHQ sliders should be powdercoated and ready to install by the end of the week

tried looking for a "before" front end pic for comparison, but realized i had never taken one since I disliked the chrome so much

So did you have to buy a new PCS sensor for the pro grill?

not the sensor itself, but did have to shell out for the sensor cover which you see in the pic. part #53141-34010. it's some sort of special radar transparent material.

Ouch. I thought a sensor was going to be high. So the sensor behind the emblem will relocate behind the garnish?

yup, plug and play. though one step is a bit finicky. You pretty much must break two plastic posts on the original grille emblem that are secured with metal cover nuts (out of like 7 total clips though) to gain the proper access to remove the clips for the sensor harness. those i knew i couldn't afford to break. then reuse those metal cover nuts to secure the old sensor behind the garnish and you're off to the races. ultimately very straightforward.

Purchased April 12th and loving it so far. Had the chrome grille and bumper ends wrapped. Bumpers in matte black and grille surround close to MGM but color came out closer to the color of the grille. I may redo the grille surround in matte black.

Changed out climate control knobs to AJT Design knobs. Added the TRD shift knob. Added Scosche MagicMount magnetic mount to the dash for my phone. May try something different for phone holder since I just purchased the black center dash cover from the tundras.com marketplace to replace the silver center dash cover. Added Rydonair 13” antenna. Added Weathertech visors. And finally added an Extang Solid Fold 2.0 tonneau cover.

Then this afternoon the Rough Country DS2 drop steps showed up at my front door so I installed them. I love them. Very well made but install instructions were laughably vague, but I figured it out.

Thoughts? Criticisms? I can take it all. Thanks for looking.

So the cover that someone makes (Ares?) wouldn't let the radar or whatever work properly?

i have no clue. haven't kept up on ares' garnish and the goings-on surrounding it. From my perspective, TSS is a pretty important system and any malfunction would be a big pain. paying a little more for the OEM garnish for that peace of mind/headache avoidance/warranty support seemed worth it to me.

Ya, I agree. Better safe then sorry. I just read a thread about Ares and he's not here anymore. Definitely go OEM.

I'm no sound expert, but I believe this amp's main purpose is for a subwoofer application. Don't think you can power all your speakers with it. I basically removed the junk JBL sub that came with the truck and replaced it with one of these. The stereo shop connected the wires from the old JBL sub into the new amp and from the amp to the new sub. Sounds awesome to me and cost was not bad. I paid $550 installed with custom box built for the truck.

Swapped the mesh throttle body gasket out for the meshless gasket part number 22271-50050 to eliminate the whistle from a CAI, and added a Ronin antenna my son gave me for Father’s Day, little stubby but we only have three radio stations where I’m from and noticed no issues with signal.

Installed the tinted amber Spyder tail lights. These look awesome and the pictures don't do them justice. They look OEM which I love and add the LED portion. IMO a 2018 truck should have LED tail lights. Overall happy with the install. Will probably wire the running lights to be always on like the running lights in the OEM headlights.

I just wish someone would have an amber option for the turn signals. Hell, the turns don’t even have to be LED. I think these are the better looking out of the after markets. I’ve seen a LED for the 2nd gen that looks OE and reused the Amber turns.

I added these little rubber washers to my mounting bolt for my DIY pop ‘n lock to deaden the thunk. Works well.

My 2018 had red turn signals. I do agree amber looks better for the turns.
