is it any more difficult to remove the TRD inlays on the bed and the Tundra inlay on the tailgate?

Debadge for sure. Makes cleaning and detailing the truck much easier. I still have my "platinum tundra" badge on my door, color matches dark bronze like my wheels but I kinda wanna remove it. It holds water and causes streaks when it rains. I'm OCD about detailing though.

Those look too pretty and bad ass to not go back on. Somewhere at least. Tailgate? Interior? They are so nice I'd hate to waste them.

This site a few members in particular, got me into detailing and I love it now. I hated it in the past but learned how easy and rewarding it can be when you do it right, and more importantly use the right products and tools. I have been a member of a few other boards Tacoma, integra, vw) and never has one had such a great detailing sub forum, with such helpful members, I find it kinda if odd for a truck forum but I love it.

Looks good guys, liking what y'all've done with that Cavalry Blue!!

Blacking out the trim or removing is all good -- notice how the poll is pretty close. I have a personal aversion to chrome also...Thing is, none of these small trim changes are permanent. Wanna change it up? Knock yourself out...

Kinda like rearranging the furniture in your living room, or the GF/ wife getting new eye shadow. Looks good, soon enough it becomes the new norm. If you tire of it, you can always go back or do something else.

IMG_20190401_171814127.jpg I debadged the tailgate and removed the chrome badges on the sides.( The 5.7 badge, tundra badge and SR5 badge ) to the matte black. I really like the look. Do you remember who the seller was? In thinking about replacing my badges with black and replacing the front chrome Toyota symbol with a blacked out one

LOL - until you look into the wheel well and see a big “KING” decal on a remote reservoir. :D

That’s why I took my TRD shit off.

I don’t care for badges. Everyone knows it’s a Tundra and nobody cares what package. I love the clean look. Every car I ever owned was debadged minus Toyota/Lexus main badges.
Everybody now blacks them out, not many remove them entirely.
After looking at my truck, I don’t think many would think I saved cash on a 4.6. A few dodges might have thought that, and found out the hard/fun way. :D
As long as you aren’t deaf, Keith’s system let’s you know pretty quick as well.

Edited To Add - oh, and no front plates! Lol! Can’t STAND front plates! :D
They are required in my state, but in 20 years I’ve never had one, and only been asked about it once out of state.

I still need to put some tint film over the chrome front lexus emblem. It’s too much. Lol

Oh, I debadged the matching MGM cat too.

the problem with the boards/threads around here... I like your black badges, but then the detailing threads pop into my head & I start seeing how much deeper & clearer the reflections could be on your truck with some detailing. LOL
I like those black badges on your red truck.

No offense intended. Of course exceptions to every rule, but Toyota does not badge non-TRD off road, or two-wheel drive, or the 4.6. If I see a stock LOOKING truck without the bedside TRD offroad 4x4 it is more than likely one of the very common around here base SR work truck. Also I have seen Platinums and 1794 listed for sale that were not 4x4, also have seen lifted trucks that were not 4x4. So it is reasonable for someone that knows the different levels and options to assume if the factory labels are not there it probably is not the higher level. If I see a bad ass Tundra completely debadged and lifted all that goes out the window, but if I see a stock LOOKING Tundra with nothing on the bedsides it is better than even odds it is a base model 2x4.

No offense taken, I get it. :D
I can usually tell right away the difference in models.
Example - in the Lexus world, you have all sorts of IS’s....and the fastest is very obvious (F) with 4 tail pipes, pizza cutter rotors, and brake vents. The 350 vs the 250 is also immediately obvious by rotor size and rear tire size. Same with AWD vs RWD (staggered). BMW sedans, same deal.
I guess if someone leaves their truck stock it might not make sense.

The tailgate is detailed but for some reason the picture turned out bad. I've been detailing vehicles for 35 yrs. I have detailed show cars ,trucks and motorcycles. My side vews turned out great but for some reason the tailgate didn't?
