Been seeing them around me again in traffic. Not a single one for years, now I seem to be seeing a couple per week all of a sudden.

Im guessing they’re more just a “style” bar rather than roll protection.

Might as well buy a black Tundra "Xtra Cab" SR5, black out all the chrome trim, black out chrome trim inside headlights, mount lights on top of roll bar, put vanity plate Marty 2 on your truck. Pretend its 1985, but really its your truck that looks like Marty's 1985 truck.

Fugly in my book, just like bull bars :bananadead: Just for appearances. I guess if your racing around in the desert it could serve a purpose. Of course these are just my opinions :D:anonymous:

Does this mean stubby antennas and blacked out wheels are now going out of style? A trend shift? Chrome shiny wheels next on the ‘gotta have’?

A true roll bar will actually provide roll protection. I made one for my Jeep back in high school in metal shop. It was not only bolted to the bed but also to plates/roll pipe underneath the bed and welded to the frame. What few "roll bars" I see are nothing but bling and even worse.....Chrome ones....

I've been toying with getting one ... they remind me of the 80's, which isn't a bad thing.

As far as them being unnecessary, we could say that about a whole lot of what goes on with Tundra trucks on this site.;)

People love 'em; people hate 'em; and some don't care. It's a preference thing.:bananadance:
