Bringing this one back out. Hard to find info on dv8 bumpers. Anyone figure out how to get the lights from pointing to the side and straight down? Really wanted them more as fog lights. Want outsiders amber and center set clear. If you have a fix please let me know.

That's a problem on a lot of aftermarket front bumpers. I would have someone fabricate a leveling plate to fasten the lights to. I thing Baja or other manufacturer make some.

Stay away from DV8. Sounds like it's too late for you. I made made that cheap Chinese DV8 knock off mistake. Very poor quality control. Crap powder coating. I'd go on but I've washed my hands of that mistake.

What lights u using 8C748315-014E-49BF-881B-7CE825DC021D.jpg just installed two sets of foodies dynamics yellow fogs. They’re great. I might make some cuts so they fit better and can adjust more but only when I schedule to get it re coated with actual primer and some kind of lining. Like @blackwolf said they’re garbage paint job. But I paid I think 300 for mine. It gets the job done 3930D8E3-A8F6-4BEC-B592-EF4898264895.jpg

i think they are talking about the second gen version.

i used these rigid angled mounts to get about 15* inward towards center still a little off but better then blinding the opposing lane and the ditch...

    Hi there
Does anyone know how to assemble this one?
I just got it, the seller is non-responsive and didn't provide a manual.
I am just confused with the reinforcement brackets... Not sure where and how to put them..

@liker777 for the one piece bumper it is just like the smittybilt m1 so the manual is pretty much the same. now the three piece bumper that you may have bought is a little different i dont think they use upper side frame mounts any more either...

I am honestly surprised more people on this site haven't bought this bumper. They've sold a lot of them on eBay. I was inclined to get one until @Black Wolf related his experience with the one he bought.

Probably with such poor service most of the purchases were returned

Maybe between the bumper bottom and the core support

That’s what I’m thinking, based on this picture but I still can’t figure out exactly where and how.

I can say when I bought mine I was disappointed spent $800 on it. Came with grinder laydown marks, and a bunch of random hardware with no place for it have over 10 bolts left over. I found the same bumper as a no name on eBay for $380. I believe now that DV8 buys the no name bumper and rivets there tag on it. (DV8 may make there Jeep Wrangler stuff in house, but definitely not anything else)

Got mine from KO Offroad on eBay. Before I mounted it, I had it LineX'd with their high quality UV resistant coating. Got the thing mounted but it's off-center about 1/2" to the passenger side, no way to adjust it, but I can live with it.

Found out it was bent upon install. To fix that, I just put some pads under the front passenger side corner (the bent side) and lifted the entire front off the ground with a floor jack, which put enough weight on the bumper to bend it into place.

The cheapo lights work okay, but the finish didn't take long to deteriorate, thanks to the wonderful mag chloride they spray on our roads in Winter. Before mounting them, I pulled the lenses out and used some gasket seal to keep moisture out ... 4yrs later and no problems. They'll get replaced at some point.

I mean, it's a Smittybilt M1 ripoff for less than half the cost ... got what I paid for. I do have an actual Smittybilt M1 rear bumper. I'll need to pull it and prep it for LineX at some point...

I used a Dremel & sanded the crappy/flaking finish off the light housings. Sprayed them with PlastiDip front and back ... turned out great! New stainless mounting hardware as well.
