Sometimes it’s necessary. I don’t think they would have been to thrilled that I grabbed their forklift and started moving pallets of wood around. Plus I had my kids there. Overall even with the 4 or 5 horrible experiences I have had there the majority of the associates mean well.. it’s the management that isn’t worth much. As a company I like a lot of things they do like the children’s stuff, military discount etc. and it’s only a little over a mile from my house while the closest lows is about 20-30 minutes away.

Thank you.... and good lord that’s a nice looking house! I wanted to move a bit further out in the country but with the cost of property we will most likely stay here and just do a complete remodel in maybe 5 years. At least I have space to extend my garage and make a bigger gym/man cave. I’m thinking about mounting a dart board behind my tv so it’s hidden... then just swivel the tv out and boom now your playing darts.

Yes it is. Around here people are selling reclaimed for about $1 per linear foot. I just randomly got on CL and found a guy that did his own fence and was giving away the old but you had to take it all. Well that worked cause I needed a bunch. So for the wood and 50 inch plasma I’m in it $0. I did get a Fire stick for the tv and a WiFi range extender. So I guess $75 really.

Man, that’s a steal....literally! you’re giving me great ideas for my own plans!

    Definitely more durable than Sheetrock!

Well like usual you do something and then you learn for next time. So here is what I plan to do during a future remodel or the next project. Hang obx plywood over the Sheetrock, paint it black then nail up the boards. If you can hit studs when attaching the obx you will have a much more sturdy anchoring point for the reclaimed wood. I just hung over the old Sheetrock and some spots were a pita to attach.
I am a bit nervous for my first dead lift day north of 500. I never thought of the wall shaking but I guess it’s possible. Luckily I still train that day with my coach at the gym... usually.:fingerscrossed:

It’s not your fault(obviously) and I try to give them a chance. I have just learned to do my homework first to avoid these type of situations... until I need there help to get something.

Good call. Didn’t even think of that stud problem. No way anchors would be worth it in that situation, short or long term.

Maybe liquid nail application? Still have to think of the rock paper giving after so long and however much abuse. Plywood would def be the best option.

I can see that happening with deadlifts LOL :rofl::rofl:

Yeah if I have any problems I might try that liquid nails. Anything that I’m hanging off the walls like my racks for bands and my racks for all my Spud Inc straps I made sure I hit studs and used 4” screws. Those things aren’t going anywhere.

Other note. If you ditch sheet rock or put obx over them take note of your electrical outlet situation. Mine had just enough slack and length on most of the screws to keep them but I almost yanked them out and put in new ones with the butterfly tabs. Thank goodness I only had three.

Well it’s almost done!!!! My Rogue and Spud Inc orders came in on Monday and Tuesday and I have been building this thing by myself. My first workout on Wednesday was a huge success. I was able to knock out my Max Effort lower body day and start dinner for the kids and have them doing there homework. It was the first time on graveyard I got more then 6 hours of sleep and got everything done.
I have 1 more order to pick up on Sunday which is just a Texas Deadlift bar, a multi grip bar, some quarters, and collars. That’s basically it for now. If I ever get garage stuff out of my garage I will add to it for sure. But that’s probably years away. Anyway current pics as of tonight.

Thanks Law. It is already paying for itself. The getting rid of the gym membership would take years to get the money back. The saving 2-3 hours a day and getting that time back... that’s the biggest payback. I got the kids technique bars so I’m going to start teaching them the basic lifts. They are just as excited to learn as I am to teach.

    Now that’s loving the dream!

Granted, the tangible aspect of it would take a bit longer but the intangible, as you said, is the biggest payback. Seems as we get older, that becomes infinitely more valuable than the monetary value.

Who said you can’t have your cake and eat it too?? Happy for you George!

So over Memorial Day weekend I won a new Xebex Air Bike from an IG giveaway from Get Rx'd. I picked it up on Monday from the trucking company so that I wouldn't have to take a day off of work. Anyway here are some updated pics as of this week after re organizing and cleaning.

Thread just popped up in current and glad it did -wow- man, what a nice set up!
I used to have a range instructor who told me (before I inevitably was doing PT) "if you can't shoot, you gotta be fast..." Run a lap.. get back - miss.. "if you can't shoot, ya gotta be strong... "Push ups... You get the drift - thanks for the memory - great looking gym

What offset would prevent rubbing? Would I have to cut anything? I don't plan on regearing, would my truck lag off the line?

I run them on stock wheels and no cutting. Just use the genuine EBay 4ft wheel spacers and you’ll be ok. Regear and supercharger are always recommended though
