Just installed the rear sway bar, what a difference in cornering and ride. Going camping again in two weeks, looking forward to seeing the difference in the ride as well. Thanks to my son Redbeard for all the help (he did most of it)

Ride might be a little stiffer, but cornering is awesome

    Correct.

DO NOT destroy the box it comes in. You will want the option to use the box to temporarily hold the bar up close to final position while you do the install. If you install by yourself. I did mine solo. Be fair and budget 1 hour of time. Put anti-seize on the bolts that attach to the truck frame.

To be clear......we're talking about the rear sway bar...YES. Helps immensely. You'll leave BMW's behind on the interstate on ramp clover leaf. Shit ton of fun.

What did you pay for the rear sway bar kit?

I have read the posts often thanks for everyone's comments/answers and questions. This is my first time in this site.

I tow a 20' ski boat and I also have an RV trailer. I have been eyeing the sway bar on Amazon. Does the sway bar help with towing at all? Trying to decide if is should move it from my wishlist to my cart!
    Thanks, Jason

I just purchased and installed the TRD rear sway bar last week. I'm very pleased with it. It's not a massive difference, but the back end feels tighter and somehow more "connected" to me, and it snugs her up on corners. Install was easy but it was a two man job when installing the brackets that go around the rear axle, just so the bar could be held in place. Overall took about 30 minutes.

EDIT: My dealer quoted me the list price of $259, but I showed him that I could get it from Sparks Toyota for $209, and he was able to get it down to $220. I figure it would have cost at least $11 to ship it to my house, so I went with my dealer. It was in by 6am the next morning.

I'm curious, did you first install the sway bar the "correct" way and then try this way out? If so, did you notice a difference?

Look at the leaf springs... the rear end sits 3.25" lower than standard. The rear shocks and sway bar end links are also 3" shorter than standard, this is the correct way to install a rear sway bar on a lowered rear. The spare has been relocated to improve balance & ride.

How it looks with the rear lowered to match the stock front end, the rear is jacked up slightly by the air bags in this picture - I can adjust that. The shorter than standard tires drop the entire truck another 1/2", it corners fast & level.
