Just did this. Totally stoked I'm in the topper gang.

Wonder if @Bob allow me a new tundras.com text only decal. Mine is now hidden because of the cap on the rear window. :(

So I wasn't feeling the Century Badge it came with so I decided to remove it ...

    c1.jpg

Look what I found underneath .... perfect indentation for its mother company "Leer"

    c2.jpg

BTW ... I am loving this camper shell. It has the removable front window so I can completely remove it and then roll the rear crewmax window down and have it open through and through.

I'm more proud of this than I should be...the craftsmanship is astounding.:)

I added an always on USB port and a 12V outlet to the back of my shell.

Now my phone can charge at night when I'm sleeping.

Do your track caps hang off the back of the cap slightly. Mine seems like the tracks are slightly too long and there’s a bit of the point of the cap of the rail tracks hanging off

I can dig up the part number if you can't find it. A garage door came down on the rear Thule bar on my Leer topper six days into ownership on its maiden voyage to the mountains for a long weekend. Fixed now.

yeah i talked to some a camper shell retailer and he told me he visited a company plant and that the caps are on the same assembly line and the only difference is at the end when they decide to slap the leer or century badge on it. makes me wonder why the split company then? o_O

That’s what I thought. It also has the dreaded bending out in the middle. I have to check my paint because it looks like it’s gonna rub. Waited 6.5 weeks for this thing and kind of looks like there’s some issues. It’s weird though because my Tacoma one was great, which is why I went ARE again

If someone has a second that has an ARE, can you measure how far apart your rack rails are please. My Prinsu is like 1.5” too narrow so now I’m thinking maybe they put them too far apart as well.

Thanks for all the responses. Helped a lot! Would never have caught it if it was for this forum!

How specific are the contouring shapes to camper shells? Meaning are there any other truck models whose camper shells would fit the Tundra just fine.

Depends on what you mean by "fit"
Anything can fit... Just not gonna look right.
Gotta get model specific to match

Found a used ARE. It is a repaint and not perfect, but at 1600 less than new, i thought worth it... I am going to pull the bed stickers off next. Like them better without IMG_20190622_081413990.jpg

    Here's my setup.

This works pretty good for solo camping.

I even make my morning coffee on a backpacking stove inside the shell.

I used to freeze in the spring and fall, but a Heater Buddy took care of that.

Get a century cap VS Leer. Removable rear window is awesome too with rear crewmax window down. Much better pricing @TPlank

Really thinking I need to get a topper for security and function, screw the vanity.

Question is, anyone run the commercial all industrial versions? These seem the most secure with the T-handle locks, but the don't come cheap....
