I will be replacing my tires soon and had intended on Michelin Defenders 275x70x18 load range E. I had a Tundra with a set of Duratrac's catch my eye recently. Has anyone here run both sets and if so how much noisier are the Duratrac's.

These are 2 totally different types of tires. Pretty much a highway tire vs an AT/MT.

the defenders will be quieter, last longer, ride better, get better mileage. They won't be as good in deep snow or mud but for 99%of driving the defenders will be better for most people. Unless you want an aggressive look.
I have not run duratracks but I have read they are loud and actually get louder as they wear.

I can only speak for the duratracs. I just put these on (less then 100miles) and had some Bridgestone dealership tires on before these. They're louder but nothing obnoxious. But like Pudge said, your comparing 2 different tires. I had duratracs on my previous truck (tacoma) and they defiantly get louder as the wear, but again nothing obnoxious IMO. They also wear great and I think I got ~40K miles out of my previous set when I sold the truck and they looked like they had plenty of thread left.

Thanks I will probably stick with the defenders. I have Coopers now and they got louder as they wore and I did not care for the noise

You can't go wrong with defenders. I absolutely love mine and wouldn't run or recommend a different tire. My gf was going thru tires like crazy on her highlander, finally got her the defenders and shes at 50k on them and they look almost new, yes its hard to believe but I'm not kidding. They are amazing tires.

I run them on my wife’s pilot. Had them on my dually’s before they had the name defender. I have a friend who got 100k on a set on a chevy dually so I am familiar with them.
