These tool companies would get sued into oblivion if they tried to sell two products under the same sku.

    It doesn't happen.

I run the non brushless version of the dewalt it made it through this cold Minnesota winter being used outside. It actually busted a lug a month ago.
I'm heavily invested in dewalt I'd go with the same brand you've already got.
Also I've got a few buddies that run the Milwaukee hard in tire shops and their complaint is the batteries don't stay clipped in the impact anymore. They just fallout.

I warned my buddy when he was using my high torque to be careful, he didn't listen and the pinion nut on his old Toyota pickup paid the price.
This same impact was able to remove the crank bolt from my C7 Corvette which some say are near impossible without special tools,

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BUY TOOLS FROM GRAINGER!! Long story short a few years ago the company I worked for hired a new tech and got him a truck. He had no tools. I had a a Grainger account for things I absolutely had no other choice but to order from them. One day I decided I wasn't going to look for deals for his Milwaukee tools so I said F it and ordered all from them. With the 5.0ah batteries and XC where I could get them. I at least tried to get the best batteries included and bought bare tools where I could. I probably spent 3x's what it cost me to do my tool swap from Dewalt to Milwaukee on my work truck. I didn't pay the credit card bill for my work and it was usual that I would spend about $5,000 a month on the thing. Im just saying that his tool purchase is what really showed me how much more they charge then anyone else.

With that said for work we used Milwaukee and when that wasn't enough we had plenty of Hilti products. For home use I have Dewalt. I recently burned up a 1/4" Dewalt(18V) impact anchoring my garage gym floor. I really really wanted to use that opportunity to switch my home stuff to Milwaukee but just bought the Dewalt 20v. I have been happy with that. My current job work stocks Milwaukee 18v(and some Dewalt) but I am using Milwaukee 12v.

I will say that if you are looking for deals you need to compare Milwaukee(or Dewalt etc.) Part #'s. It's not uncommon to see HD and someone else advertise sales prices for similar but different kits. Most of the times the tools are the same its the batteries that they include that changes the price a lot. Milwaukee is really proud of their batteries and they should be.

One of the guys I work with has one and we use it to remove lugs off heavy equipment and othe heavy military equipment and it make short work on those lugs. I was quite suprised so I ended up getting one. I am not making money off those harbor freight tools anyways mostly home project and occasional work on the truck. If I were I would go with a more name brand quality.

For the garage warrior on a budget I found this one to be exceptional for the price . Harbor Freight has them on sale for $130 regularly and it comes with battery, charger, and case. I haven't found a bolt yet that it couldn't loosen. Wheel lug nuts, trailer hitch bolts, cab bolts on my GMC, so not just small stuff. Its makes fast work of stuff at the junk yard.

I have all Ingersoll air & battery tools. Never had any issues with the tools. I have a set from 2006 still going on the same 19v LI batteries (2) About 2017 I wanted another impact and found out they switched to 20v & that there were no more batteries. I bought another drill and impact that each came with batteries and complained to IR. They sent me the last two batteries they had free.

Does anyone have a strong opinion about brand? Wow. Dewalts are great, Dewalts are garbage. The high number of people saying they’re all about the same these days are the ones I agree with. Comes down to what else you have and personal preference. I ran a Ridgid forever with no issues. Used it for everything around house, yard and garage. My Dad passed I’m January and I took his Dewalt. Only “complaint” is there is no battery life left on the battery like I got used to on the Ridgid I had. Good luck deciding!! I’d bet you’re happy with whatever you get.

(I work road construction, we go with all kinds of brands and they all eventually break.)

i have almost every 20v dewalt tool and a ton of corded ones as well. I’ve been slowly moving over to the 60v tools Not a problem with any of them. Just one battery that crapped out. I’m too invested to switch and have been happy with them.

Gotta watch out on the dewalts if you are upgrading from the 18 to 20v system. They have a battery adapter so you can use the 20v on a 18v tool. If you leave the battery on the tool, it will drain it down to nothing. As far as tools, I have used them all at work and at home...they all break. I like Milwaukee, but my home budget is Kolbalt and they work just fine.

I have the heavy duty Dewalt 20vMax model and love it. My brother has the Milwaukee. Having used both, I’d see no reason to get the Milwaukee over the Dewalt, and my experience is that the battery life on the Dewalt is better than the Milwaukee. I’ve been amazed by what it can do, as a battery powered tool—can’t remember the last time I used my air impact.
