    Hi All,

I just accepted a promotion at my company which will require me to leave Southern California and move to Vegas.

I am not familiar with the neighborhoods in Vegas, so I came here for help.

Anyone here from Vegas? What's a good neighborhood to live in? I myself would like to start off by renting a house but the wife insist we move into a luxury apartment.

    Any thoughts would be helpful.

Summerlin dude lol uppity area. The newer northwest is super nice but far from everything. Some parts of Henderson are nice and some are ghetto.

We are definitely looking into Summerlin. That's my first choice.

I don't know where you'll be working, but I used to live in a gated community in Spring Valley and it was alright. Middle-class neighborhood with the houses packed fairly close together, but I worked near the strip so my five-minute commute time was great.

A suggestion from a guy who sold his house to build another and moved into an "luxury apartment", don't do it. Apartment life sucks when you've been accustomed to house life. Sure this is one of the nicest apartments I've seen but the people stomping above you, doors slamming all the time and no yard just plain sucks ass. Moved in April 1 and have about 6 weeks to go. :turtleride:

Either way you go, congrats on the promotion and good luck with your move!
