Wiring done. I used a caliraised LED harness (since the Baja Design’s harness is not long enough) and cut the ends off and spliced in the Baja connectors. I ran the wiring under the hood insulation. The only thing I didn’t get to is the illumination wire for the switch. The adjacent switch I was going to tap into had so much factory wire loom and tape covering every square inch I threw in the towel!

For those running a harness with relay, where did you all mount the relay?

I have the Cali-raised harness, but not sure where to mount the relay. Does it need to be on a metal ground? Or can I mount it anywhere?

    Yes old thread.

So... What happens when you need to lift the hood? Do the lights clear the windshield/etc ? Do you need to remove the lights to lift the hood?

I know - simple question. But I cannot find a simple picture or thread that answers this question. Yet.

To the SDHQ users, I bought a pair back in Jun 2020 for my kc hilites. The coat started peeling on the left side and rust is developing (Dec 2021).. For the price, I was hoping the coat would last longer. I'm in WA state so rain is regular. Anybody have similar experiences?

Contact sdhq see if they can warranty them. If not repaint them or go a different route. I’ve found most aftermarket things that are coated really don’t hold up long no matter which brand you go with. I’m in north Idaho so snow rain ice all that is common. Contact them see if they can help you out first.

Yes, it will clear. Unless you put something like LP9s on there.

Any "coating" is bound to chip, peel, etc. As stated above, contact SDHQ and see if you can get a warranty claim going. I never order anything "coated" as I've never had any luck with the coating. I always expect the coating on parts to peel or chip and rust to start forming.
