Im thinking of installing this on my 2019. Concerned about mass air reading differently. Anyone put one on yet?. More horsepower? Mpg's?..

9/10 people will tell you that the stock air box is more than adequate. most even shy away from aftermarket filters for particulate filtration reasons.

Save your money. Just buy a k&n drop in if anything. If you want real significant horse power gain you will want to do headers and maybe a tuned with an exhaust. I would do exhaust over a cold air intake on our trucks.

Aftermarket Cold air intakes are just for the sound. However, if your hell bent on getting a new intake system, get one with a dry filter and a sealed box. That K&N will just suck in engine bay air and the oiling of the filter is a pain and can mess with the MAF if too much oil is applied.

Nothing wrong with drop in K&N filters. Been using them since the mid 70's with zero issues. Lots of decent dry or wet drop in filters to choose from.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
BINGO! Filter swap with K&N or TRD and you are good to go.

I have the plastic pipe k&n version of that one and at WOT it is super loud. (came with truck). I'll be replacing it with factory box soon.

Well... Not sure on any added horse power. K&N claims 9-12. At least it sounds and looks great.

Most HP claims occur well above 4000 rpms. Unless you constantly drive at those kind of rpms you'll notice nothing but a louder nifty sound...

I see that most of you like the K&N .... but do you guys happen to know if this will fit 2019 Pro ...? It shows it will only fit 2018 but clicking on the pictures shows it will fit 2019.... thoughts ... thanks CCD413A9-9548-46E7-B81F-3204D0834F6A.jpg

Had one on my 2010 it made it loud in the cab while pulling my trailer, I personally wouldn’t put one on my 2019 , that being said everyone has there own sound level they’er Ok with .

I'd personally to the poor man's trd Intake. Just get the drop in filter and air accelerator.

For me i recommend the sabm because of a couple reasons. For one its sucking in another port which is 3in in diameter like stock so you have 6in of air coming in. Most aftermarket k&n and other companies uses air from under the hood which isnt good no hot air for me. And its only 95 shipped. Another one is i like the stock look of the intake and it looks great also does good with high flow filter. I gain 2mpg on hwy and 1.5 in city. The noise level is not that bad only time you really hear is above 4000rpm and its definitely quieter and other aftermarket cai which i like. I dont want loud. The best reason for me that i was going to run s&b intake but Keith from dirty deeds recommend not to do that if your running the bullydog tune which i already have because most cai change the intake tubing causing check engine light if your are using bully dog tune. Also gains 5rhp on the dyno confirm from a stock truck.

That TRD airbox looks good. What does it add vs a stock intake box?
