Fwiw, a shim on top of the shock will not affect shock preload. Many choose to add shims to the shock to gain ride height, without sacrificing ride quality.

My apologies for quoting such an old post.

Have you had any issues with the TSS after you put the 5100 on?

I went from BF All terrain T/A KO to Falken
Wildpeak AT3 and it was a big difference in road noise. I’ll be buying the wildpeak again moving forward

IMO, the XLT's and Falkens seem to be the quietest followed very closely by the Nitto Ridge Grappler. I have 4000+ miles on my XLT's and they're still very quiet and wearing very well also. We sell a ton of Falkens at my shop and very few XLT's, even on my recommendation. Ive always had good luck with Coopers and I love my XLT's. I think the tread pattern is proven, they're quiet as can be and the side wall is slightly more aggressive than the Wildpeaks and in the 275/70/18 they're about 4 lbs lighter than the Wildpeaks or the Ridge Grapplers.

Has anyone set the 5100 front shocks on the lowest setting (as close to stock) and the rear 5100 on the lowest setting? It seems like most are using the middle setting on the front. Thank you in advance.

There's a post on here with people using the lowest setting up front.
There is no adjustment to be made with the rear. 5100's ...lift in the back comes from other means....blocks, shackles, leafs etc

I’ll try to find that post. I bought these from Toytec and this is the description-

    1 x 24-186971-P - Bilstein 5100 Series Rear Shocks (0-1" Lift) for 07+ Tundra

That’s why I asked about the rear.

That just means, that the shock is long enough for up to 1" lift. They are not adjustable.

Got a 19 TSS wanting to level and lift. Was thinking of getting the Bilstein 5100 B8 front and rear kit, then adding procomp 1” shackles. So this would give me a 3/1 level lift correct?

Question for you driver side shimmers...
I have a 2019 sr5 off road stock for now. Was looking to put some 5100s (not 6112s I know) on the front only at the middle setting and leave the rear stock. Should I shim the driver side while I’m at it? Does every Tundra lean towards the driver? I haven’t noticed one as it sits... thanks from a newb

I have 5100s middle setting and a @BOSS4x4s shim on each side and don't have any lean.

I did not shim with my 5100, and have no noticeable lean

Are you not getting a error code from the TSS sensor from having your truck leveled?

@Torian13 The TSS is working just like it should no errors or codes. I was worried about it, but have had no issues.

Im on stock Suspension now and am running 275-60-20's with no issue. These are 33's so yours would probably look good with he same size or maybe 295s would fit.

    wondering what you all think....

I recently did 5100 on middle setting as well. No shims. Im sitting at the following hub to fender measurements

    LF 23 RF 23.25
    LR 25 RR 25.25

What I cant seem to figure out is why the rear is so high stock. Everyone seems to be getting in the 25in range (hub to fender) for the rear AFTER doing a 1in lift. I am like 99% sure that the rear is stock (Bilstein 4600). Shackles are stock, and leaf pack appears to be stock as well.

Reason i noticed is middle setting didnt look as level as i expected. Which makes sense because most the pics in the forums i found were like more at 24in hub to fender for the rear. So after 5100 at middle setting i still have a 2in rake. I really dont want to spend the two hours taking it back apart to add shims. So i think im just gonna deal

Awesome, same size I am stuck with for a while. I’ll let the wife know it’s your fault when there is a box full of leveling parts on the porch.
