Bully dog gt tuner will it work?

guy has one like new used off a 2011. Will it work with my 2015?

 

Should as long as he reset his 2011 to stock and the tuner reset. It gets locked to the vehicle once used and has to be taken off to reset. I think BD will reset it for a fee too.

 

I don’t think so.I’d call the company and see if you had it erased and down loaded with new software. It may be possible.

 

Part number is 40417 and that’s what a new one was to for my year. According to the website

 

40417 def works is what I’m running on my 2016 so you should be just fine. The program is for up to 2016. The guy needs to delete his tunes from the device though or it’ll basically be bricked until you get it reset. I love it though, performance tune is very fun.

 

Ok I guess I need to call bully dog figure out how to reset it. He only wants $150 so I figure what the heck

 

Just ask him to reset it. Bully dog will charge you and that’s if they’ll even do it. Some guys call and ask for the reset and then tune multiple cars with one tuner ( the tuner doesn’t need to be in the car after the tune is uploaded). So they are skeptical at best, and may not do it. He has to de-tune his car. Until the device reads that his truck is untuned you won’t be able to use it.

 

Makes sense then because it came from his buddies 2011 he bought it from him then never installed it now he’s selling

 

Yeah he couldn’t get it to work now he’s trying to hawk it.

Call bullydog before you buy is my advice. They will let you know what’s up.
