Yep, 202 is the way to go. It is a glossy black paint, just without the blue metallic flake. Lots of guys here on the forum have installed 202 parts on 218 Tundras and vice versa. The difference is hardly noticeable.

Got a new MGM. Any pics of color matches done to only bulge and grille surround but not bumper/bumper caps? Thinking of going this route.

    Quick question....

I got a 2014 1794 and ordered the 2018 Premium grille. I got the land cruiser badge, it fits, but it pops out? Any way to get it to stay in?

Also, I've tried searching online and other forums, but what's the paint code for the center bumper for the 1794? It's that silver color.

I've always just pushed the emblem into the grille and it held. I had to pinch the tabs on the back to get it to come back out. Make sure nothing is obstructing it from going all the way in.

There is no paint code for the center valance piece. I've called Toyota about it in the past for the silver and the gray center valances on the 1794 models, and know one knew what it was.

I want to make sure I understand what you did here because it sounds like I'm looking to do what you have set up right now. You were able to use the surround from the 2017 TRD pro grill with your existing grill with the TSS sensor? I am looking at buying the 2017 TRD pro grill and just using the surround with my limited grill in cement gray. If I understand correctly that's what you have set up right now. The 2017 pro surround but your stock grill insert with the TSS.

Hey @Roman, thanks for the info. Just picked up 2019 Tundra SR5 TRD OFF ROAD in quicksand. Happy with the stock grille insert. Just looking for bulge and surround to match the quicksand. Looks like I could just order one of the 2014-2017 painted grilles and a painted hood bulge and swap out the existing chrome surround and bulge? Will the 2014-2017 grille surround and bulge work on my 2019? Thanks!

Yep, that is correct. Those will work for you.

I have to make it as easy to understand as humanly possible. I get asked those questions every day. :D

Hi Roman- thanks for the thread.
A Bambi hit my truck and thankfully only cracked a piece of the surround and insert. I had planned on replacing the insert anyway. Now, with that being said, I read through the forms and ofcourse still have a question (sorry):
I have a 2015 Tundra limited. I hoped to keep the chrome surround and get black TRD Pro insert. I read there is a way to mix and match but not totally sure if its possible to order the surround chrome and insert black. Suggestions? Thanks!

    Stephany,
Sorry to hear about your Bambi incident. I have a '15 SR5. I just received the color matched 14-17 TRD Pro Grille and Bulge setup from Roman. Merry Christmas to me! Anywho, you are welcome to my chrome surround if you want it. Just pay for shipping. I am in southern NJ. I will not be installing the grille until the week after Christmas if you can wait. PM me if interested.

You can remove the surround from the insert, but you will need to have both grilles to do it. If your chrome surround is broken, you'll have to find one either with a new grille, or from one of the guys here that don't need theirs.

Hi, I cannot thank you enough for all of the information you provide to swap this chrome grill and bulge on the Toyota Tundra. I have a 2018 SR5 Cement color Crew Cab that has this TSS for the cruise control and pre-collision system w/ped detection on a honeycomb insert. If I purchase the TRD Pro-Grill in cement color and the garnish radiator sensor that goes right under the word "Toyota" will this system continue to work if I want to keep the Pro-Grill insert rather than swap it out with the factory honeycomb insert that I have? Look forward to your insight and knowledge before I spend the money on all three items needed (bulge, grill, and garnish radiator) TSS radar sensor. Thank you,

Yes you can use your radar sensor on the TRD Pro grill. I changed my 2018 grill to the 2019 TRD Pro grill: https://www.tundras.com/threads/silverhack’s-2018-trd-faux.18304/page-2#post-1386312

Hi silverhack, I really appreciate your response and pictures with the information. The truck looks great much better than the chrome around the grill on these trucks. So no need to change any of the wiring other than replace the grill with the TRD Pro and the garnish radiator TSS sensor and plug it in right? Thank you,

Correct, no wiring changes. You just unscrew the sensor from one grill and screw it in to the other grill.

So just to make sure if I have a 2017 SR5 and I would want a black surround with a black grill would I need to buy a 2017 SR5 surround and purchase a 2nd grill to change it out or could I get a 2018 grill and surround?

Depends on which insert you like the look of. If you like the honeycomb insert, for example, you can order the 2018+ Platinum grille in black. It will have the black painted surround on it plus the honeycomb insert. If you like the look of the 2014-15 SR5 insert, then you will need to buy the 2014-15 SR5 grille, plus another grille of your choice that has a black surround on it.

Gotcha so if I get the 2015-17 TRD Pro in (202) it will pop into my 2017 SR5 no issues? Also thanks for feedback!

Ughh, so I just bought a 2018 Honeycomb grill from Offerup, was about to put in on my 2017 and noticed that 2 of the black brackets where the bolts go thru on the passenger side have been cracked off. Do they sell these individually? I need to order the cover too, might as well see if I can get these, or that's $200 in the trash.

Edit: wow, when I told the guy, he swore they were there, but I'm SOL on that. I did manage to get it on fine (guide tabs were broken too, but I knew that) and there is very little movement, it's like you'd never know. I may try to remove the outer most driver side one and put it on the other side, leaving both out most sides removed. Can't find it on any diagram, the people at the Sales counter at my dealership told me to get lost, they had no idea what I was talking about.
