Need to replace my tailgate...

    Someone who shall remain nameless backed into a wall of dirt with the tailgate down... Ugly.
    I was able to remove it without a problem. Damage limited to lower portion of the tailgate.
    Obviously I need to replace it. But before I do I'm looking for some insight and experience of anyone who's gone down this path.
    Toyota dealer said replacement, without paint job, runs about $750.
    What are the alternatives, if any?
    Thanks for any thoughts...

    my buddy got his tacoma tailgate stolen from his truck. dealership wanted $1600 for new one. He looked over CL and found one that looks exactly like the one he just had stolen for $300...since then this is our running joke...
