    Guilty!
I had a spacer lift on the last run. Had a blast with the crew! Everyone was very helpful and supportive.
Air down and know your limits you’ll be fine.
I’m not so sTock anymore.. too bad I can’t make this run.. I really wanted to come out and test of my new setup.

So, i just called the Rangers station... and if you really wanna go through Hemet you can, they have escorted route through. 4AM to 8AM, and 6PM to Minight. Just in case. I also asked about FS 5S15, and she said it is open, but not starting from Hemet, you would have to go from Anza because you can't deviate from the escort route. So... I don't know if this is a good idea @nishibot, But some of us 909ers and 818ers could got down and meet the long way round, and split off and take 5S15 back to hemet and home from there... Just a thought if the time out is too long for some.

Sorry everyone I was camping this past weekend and didnt really keep up with the forum.

Since the list is pretty much settled its time to talk meet up times and meeting place.
I know some people have time restraints and I think we can accommodate them but that would mean starting early.

https://goo.gl/maps/2U6gPF1E5RKAyXMb6 I was thinking here for a meetup spot Gas/Groceries.

I am open to any and all suggestions.

Pinay, it looks like if you hit it during the escort times you'll be fine. At the very top, before you plummet down to Elsinore, turn north or south along the ridge for a tiny bit of dirt and let us know if it's still blocked in both directions. @TheFreshMouse and I hit roadblocks up here due to fire danger (in December!?!?). If the conditions are right, the views oughta be pretty good no matter what.

I know I haven't said definite yet, @nishibot, but I am likely to make it, and more likely if it's not ridiculously early. 10 is good, I could make 9 work (and that's not too long for anyone to wait that takes the escort), but earlier would be a struggle- at least for pulling my kid along....

Also, I may have a buyer for my RTT and, if he gets his act (and rack) together in time, he may drive down form Big Bear... which would be hard to do before 10....

    Just my early vote :D.

What sort of basic items are a must to bring for the trip. New to all this so just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Also do you all use radios, HAM, etc.?

This trip you do not need to bting any recovery gear. This being your 1st trip you can see what other people have and then make a better decision as to what you want to buy.

    We use the Baofeng radio.

If this is your first trip out, best to bring yourself and a good attitude! (oh and beer :drunk:)

Also yes, grab a radio. A Baofeng UV5R is a good little radio that's cheap and easy to use. Not very good range, but hey for $25 bucks it makes for a solid radio and you can upgrade in the future if need be. But for the time being works like a charm and you'll hear calls for turns, obstacles, on coming vehicles/bikes/hikers an of course all the banter and BS.

    ^ Exactly.

No real gear is needed...yet :stirthepot:

But you will want to air your tires down for comfort and grip on the dirt, so ask now and find someone kind enough to fill you up after the run!
Then you can see what kind of compressors most use, what your options are, and make an educated decision on what compressor to get.

Nooo not that kinda escort. Repairs being made in the road so one lane and a car escorts you thru this area...
