I agree with this post. I think they are the most overrated AT there is. I’ve had 4 sets from Tacoma’s to Runners. They wore well for me but they were average at best in the snow and shitty in the rain.
The Duratracs were better in both cases.
I’m now running Ridge Grapplers on my Tundra and cannot give a long term review but I can say they are WAY better in the snow.

Agree. There are a lot more aggressive hybrid A/Ts available now. Time for BFG to catch up...IMHO.

yep.jpg Cooper ST MAXX hybrid A/T for example..IMHO

I agree. I wish the made the STT in the size of the stock Platinum wheels. They do in Ridge Grappler so that may be my choice.

Falken is a good tire for sure. I work with them as a company, just not as aggressive looking as others.

295/65/18 Duratracs. Not a PRO but has a 2/0 lift so exact same stance as a PRO

I liked my DuraTracs. Good all around tire although they wear fairly quick even when properly rotated.

I had some duratrac's and some cooper stt pro maxx on my tacoma and the were both awesome.
I liked the coopers better, but they were really loud compared to the duratrac. the wife and kid were always bitching about it when we rode in it hunting. You really had a hard time hearing folks talking in the back seat over the noise from them, if going 55 mph or higher on the highway. I had decided to go with cooper stt maxx (not the pro) on the my tundra. Then i decided to go 35" and found the duratrac about $200 cheaper, so going that route. I just have never really been crazy about BFG for some reason, they are pretty expensive also, compared to some of the other brands.

They usually get too loud for me at about 40K before they get too worn. I put 3 sets on my Titan in 135K miles. I have about 42K on this set on my Tundra.

I love my tires (Trail Grappler). Considering how aggressive the treads are, it's really quiet and comfortable.TrailGrappler.jpg

Cooper ST Maxx and Duratracs are about as aggressive as you can get in an AT. I ran both on Tacomas. For what the places I off road (mainly hunting ranch) the Coopers are better due to stronger construction. Duratracs have weaker sidewalls. Ranch has lots of rocks, cedar stumps, and cactus along with mud. Answer depends on off road conditions. From a traction standpoint mud is my main concern and BFGs suck in it. I am looking at GY Authority MTs for next tire. If not them then Maxx's. If concerned about weight than go with Duratracs. Maxx's can be hard to balance. I would not consider any of the others to be aggressive. AT3's definitely are not.
