I always loved the other Spyders but the more and more I look at these newer ones I'm drawn in, I just want to see what they look like on someone's Tundra but looks like once pay day hits I might have to just bite the bullet and be the Guinea pig.

Do these, or any other aftermarket lights, maintain the leveling with the wheel on the dash? I like the look but the leveling is one of my favorite features.

I’ll be honest. I have the older version and I’m unimpressed. I have good LED bulbs and I think the light output is average at best and the high beams are a joke.
These new models don’t say anything about a better projector housing. IMO a big factor for your beam pattern. They don’t mention anything about bulb usage either. All they tout is a DRL led strip that will add to your safety. Big deal. That does nothing for light output at night.
I won’t be dropping 400 bucks on them.
I do plan to invest in the Morimoto housings if they ever come out. I’m confident those things will light up the night.

I have the leveling motors on my older version of Spyder. They work just fine.

Subscribed as I like the look of these. Projector housing with LEDs would be nice.

My understanding is unless you take the motor out of the OEM and put it in the aftermarket housing .... the leveling won't work. I could be wrong though as this is just what I have read (haven't tried it personally)

Looks like the outside lens is the projector and the inside one is reflective looking. what is that inside light? Aren't both low and high projector style?

What about OEM? From Toyota so maybe the leveling motors work?

Morimoto looks freaking awesome... but wonder what the price will be?

I’m thinking around a grand but there going to be a group buy when they release. The OEM would be another solid option but I’m guessing the Morimoto will have better output.
Keep in mind that both are captive and if you lose a bulb you have to replace the entire assembly. The Morimotos will have a 10 year warranty I’m told. Not sure on the OEM.

Wow thanks didn't realize they are captive. Does anyone make good projector housing that you can replace the bulbs?

Not that I’m aware of unless you go with a retro setup. Those will run you around a grand I would guess. I’ll be ok with the 10 year warranty of the Morimoto.

I’m hoping a group buy will get those Morimotos around 800 or less.

The guy involved with the release of them is a member here. I think we can get a solid group buy deal far less than 12-1400. At least that’s what I’m hoping for!

Just came out of that Morimotos thread and I am definitely impressed they look gorgeous and a 10 year warranty?! I'm sold 1200 is kind of up there but you cant beat that 10 year warranty. Cant wait for the group buy.

Side by side with my profile led projectors and the original 14-17 spyder headlights is unreal. I initially had the spyder set and then traded a friend for his stock lights and did a retrofit. It was quite simple honestly after I learned to be patient and the output is IMO 10x bright and 10x clearer than the spyder with LED bulbs. I’ll never buy aftermarket headlights again.

Ask them how much it would cost to retro your stock lights you will get a close idea of what these new ones will be but add some more coin since there’s multiple projectors. 4 years ago when I was in the market every retofitter wanted. $1000 plus shipping for a d2s retro blacked out and a led drl strip. So I did them myself for about half that.

Headlights and parts I bet are at least $800.

That was back when I had motivation and time!:rofl:. Parts were under 400$ I think.
