    Hi all,

I was looking over tonneau covers for my black 19 Crewmax TRD Sport. I've narrowed it down to the Diamondback HD, Extang Encore, and the Undercover Ridgelander. Each of them has it's advantages.

    Diamondbach HD
    - Can be opened on the cab side
    - Ability to haul heavy load on top of cover.
    - Has bin accessories

    Extang Encore
    - Can be opened on the cab side
    - Can use my Tundra keys to lock the cover.

    Ridgelander
    - Has T-slot rails compatible with Rhino Rack, Yakima, etc
    - I like the sporty look of it.

    Which would you go with?

I've had Retrax roll up cover and BakFlip HD before, but now I'm onto the Diamondback SE. Even after a few weeks the choice is clear that the Diamondback is the best by far. The pieces are light enough that it's easy enough for me to pop them off if I needed to for tall loads. And I haven't even started to put the accessories on/under.

Do you find that using another key to lock/unlock the Diamondback annoying?

Not at all. Got one on the key ring for my truck keys and another in the center console. Locks are very easy to move, don't need to force anything so one handed operation is a breeze.

the diamondback is heavy duty. are you planning on carrying a quad on top of it ? it is heavy, built like a tank, not easily removable and $$$

I'm not familiar with the other covers mentioned. I went with the Diamondback SE, though, mainly for its security advantage over other covers. I can't remember which brands they were, but I've seen a few youtube videos of breaking into covers from the sides. Kind of hard to do with a Diamondback although I'm sure not impossible for a dedicated pro. I also factored in its durability and ability to keep the bed dry.
