Hey guys, I just had an oil change about a week ago. Since then, I've noticed there is a decently loud "knock" when I brake. It's not continuous, just one "knock" and nothing more. IT's starting to drive me insane.

I got under the truck last night and saw my sway bar is favoring the driver side and actually coming in contact with my lower control arm(?). I plan on taking the sway bar off anways, but I still don't think this is the problem.

Anyone dealing with a similar issue? Would it be my brakes?

    TIA.

Did you do the oil change?

What needs to be removed from your truck in order to perform one.

I would check and see if tings were put back on right first.

My 17 with 45k is starting to do the same thing only when I brake.

I did not, took to a shop down the street. As far as I know, the only thing that needs to be removed is the skip plate. But I have yet to do my own oil change on the Tundra.

Mine does that because I used after market brake pads. My wife's 4Runner also did that until I replaced the brake pads with OEM Toyota pads. Toyotas don't seem to like after market pads. Check to see if that may be the problem.

No I was actually getting ready to start a thread here asking the same question. I lied about my mileage I'm actually at 41k just had the 40k service done this weekend they said brakes look good.

I’m pretty sure I’m due for a break job. So it would make sense on the breaks

Hmm.. But I can go over speed bumps and there is no knock. Almost want to rule the sway bar out. I’m thinking it’s the pads

Check and see if there are any bolts missing from the skid plate.
They may have just put it up there with just the hangers
