I guess I’m one of those “they don’t build them as good as they used to” people. I own a 07 TRD 5.7L w/200k and I think it runs as good as the day I bought it. I frequently pass the Toyota store on my way to work and dream of a new tundra. I’m curious if you tundra owners feel the new models are as tough as the older ones? Im afraid of buying a new one and looking back in a year or two and regret trading away my old “tried and true” one!

I haven't had mine long enough to really say, but I think if you are a "tried and true" kind of guy this year into next year is probably the best time to buy a Tundra within the next 6 years. They are due for a new generation were I really look for the newest version of the oldest generation that has as many of the kinks worked out as possible.

They are going to have to have an answer for the F150 soon and just being the most dependable isn't going to work forever, which I think primiarlly is going to mean a lot of change to improve gas mileage and tow/haul capacity

Ive had both. An 08 limited crewmax and now my 18 platinum crewmax. And there the same truck motor and drive line. A little more quiet on the 18 and more features. But overall the same. I love my tundra but cant stand my TSS.

Other than some skin and a few electronic gizmo's, they haven't changed anything structurally or with the drivetrain....so...yeah.

Sure if I had the money to burn..no pun intended. I would need my own high output power station though.

2014 limited 4x4, 71230 miles, no issues. Been speeding through the desert many times and I was sure I broke something more than once but the truck is still solid. Not a single issue, still have stock parts besides king shocks.
