Looking for exhaust ideas. Have TRD Pro exhaust, want a deeper/ louder rumble. Any ideas?!

@dirtydeeds is the place to go. Most of us on here have his exhaust.

I’ve seen the dirty deeds on here a lot, but to me the build quality makes me nervous. I’m a welder by trade and to me the quality is not there.

You can cut your exhaust off and give it to me... Lol

Can you explain what you mean about @dirtydeeds quality? Everything I've seen or heard looks good.

Welcome! How’s the ride with those tires and wheels? Looks like it may ride a little rough.
I have the TRD dual and am happy.

I have the exact same truck as you but 2015. I recently put on a 8 inch stainless steel Dirty Deeds exhaust.

I can’t personally speak to the durability of the DD exhaust, but it sounds incredible, both at low and high RPMs.

If I had to guess, I would say he is referring to the welds.

The quality is fine. The welds aren't going to win any awards, buy they don't have to. He bangs out a lot of exhausts and I have never heard a single quality control complaint. If you wanted he could probably leave yours raw and unpainted and you could grind down any boogered welds if you wanted but like I said I not not heard of a single issue or leak. I have had 2 of his exhausts and over a few years and they have held up better than the exhausts components that are OEM Toyota.

I have had his exhaust since 2015. It's been over 500 miles of off-road in Baja, it's done several hundred miles of off-road at the king of hammers race. Let alone all the hunting trips off-road with it. The quality of the welds are perfect. Maybe not pretty, as has been voiced.. but quality is perfect.

I’m a big corsa fan. Dirty deeds is very popular here. But just can’t stay away from Corsa. Plan on buying the corsa by summers end. Not cheap but they have a nice crisp sound. Had them on previous Gm trucks.

Yes, weld quality. Not saying it’s not a quality product. Hate to spend money on a exhaust and have to grind it out and smooth out welds. Obviously, it’s on the underside of truck so doesn't matter.

22s off a Lexus 570 and it does ride alittle rough but nothing terrible.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
I love my TRD exhaust but for deeper and a little louder, maybe try Gibson? I've had 2 of their systems before and enjoyed it. I'm just getting older and wanted mellow rumble / loved the design of the TRD.

I have the TRD duals and really like them. Not super loud, but terrific tone.

Are you more after tone or volume. Generally as you go louder, you lose some of the bass sounds in exchange for the higher pitched notes. So it's a balancing act. Drone can become an issue too.

Also, does the configuration matter to you. True duals vs 2 in 2 out same side exit vs 2 in 2 out straight back exit, etc....

I'm assuming you're looking for a new catback system to replace the TRD system.

Definitely do not want loud and raspy. Looking for more if a aggressive rumble, low tone. I’d like to eventually run ARH headers so a nice stainless cat back to start off will make a great addition.

All else being equal, headers will be louder than manifolds. Maybe try your existing TRD exhaust behind the headers to see if that gives you the sound you're looking for. If so, then you're only out the $$ for headers. If not, you can always add the catback later.

I think dual exhaust is best with headers anyway.

Not yet because I am undecided about installing long tube headers... if I install headers I'll need these in 3", 2.5" / 2.75" if I don't install headers. Either way, I think an X pipe crossover ahead of the mufflers is a must.

    That makes sense.

This is good information for the OP. May want to decide on headers or not before the exhaust due to pipe sizing.
