Has anyone gotten a TRD Pro grille painted by sparks parts?

Just recently ordered a 2014-2018 TRD Pro grille with bulge from sparks parts. Has anyone here bought their grille from there and had it painted by them? If so, do you have any pictures or how was the finished product?

 

I am sure someone will chime in in regards to the grill but I can say all of my colored matched items from Sparks parts to include door handles, front and rear bumper end caps as well as side mirror covers have come out perfect. So I wouldn’t hesitate on purchasing a color matched item from Spark Parts. Will be purchasing a 19 pro grill and bulge from them soon and I have no worries.

I ordered all my color matched parts from Sparks. The mirror caps and door handles are perfect. The grille surround and bulge are a slight shade off. Barely noticeable but not perfect. To be fair though, it’s not really the fault of Sparks. It’s hard to get plastic and metal to look the exact same without having the truck present, even with the correct paint code. There are a few threads on here about the same topic. The color of your truck plays a role as well. For what it’s worth, I’m pretty OCD about things and I hardly notice it.

Handles, mirror caps, shell, bulge, and front end caps all paint to match, suits me just perfect! Excellent job by sparksparts

Do you have the TSS sensor? If so does the TRD pro grill adaptable to an SR5?

 

I do not have the TSS sensor (it's a 2017).

 

Did your tss sensor attach easily to the pro grill on the back?

 

Yep, it’s the same exact mounting points as the limited and/or honeycomb style grille. Unplug the sensor, remove the grille, unbolt sensor and install on the new grille, install the new grille and plug the sensor back in. It’s really a pretty quick process. I actually used the surround from the older style pro grille so I had to swap the inserts. That was way more of a process. If you’re wondering why I had to do that, when the newer pro grilles were introduced, they only sold them in black or white. Sparks did not offer color matching for them at that time.

 

Did you have to purchase a new sensor cover for the TSS?

 

Yes, I purchased an aftermarket one. It has worked well so far but honestly I’ll be buying an OEM one soon. OEM prices have dropped a little since they were introduced so I’d recommend just going OEM.

 

Udnerstood. Whats the price on the OEM ones now? Last I saw they were close to $300.

Yep that’s about right. They were closer to $400 when they were introduced.

 

Sparksparts.com and toyotaparts.mcgeorgetoyota.com have the best prices that I’ve found.

 

Nice. McGeorge has it for about $10 bucks less than I have seen elsewhere. I wonder how much they charge for shipping.
