Heavy Duty Tote Box

So much to shop for so little money (Quote from wife "you need gas already again!")..............I am looking for a "Tote Box" to keep "Stuff in" in the bed of my truck. I would like it to be heavy duty & waterproof, but I'm not looking for a bed mounted tool box, I would like it to be 100% portable. Any recommendations on which way to go and where to shop? Something about the size of a large cooler or footlocker is what I'm thinking about.

What you want will face the compromise of space, weight, security, cost, durability and appearance.
For example, the most secure will be fab'd of heavier steel, be heavier and therefore more durable and harder to move.
Do multiple web searches for 'tool chests'
Look at details of the ones that meet your criteria. Click on 'find local dealer '.
Never buy one you haven't seen and looked at. Check out the lock and hinges.
Aluminum = light = easier to break into = easier to move. Steel= heavier etc

 

The Husky 25 gallon would be a good option. It was designed to fit under truck bed covers and has a water resistant seal. $49 at Home Depot
