Don't know how it happened but it did what's best way to fix without going to body shop n spending fortune on something so small it's not into metal but it's past paint good lil gouge don't know much bout body work

 

Could try wet sand and touch up paint to try to make it a little smoother so it's not so noticeable.

I hit a deer in my GTO back on the day, scratched into the metal. Dad and I wet sand, a few layers of touch up paint to bring the surface back up and you could only see it in the right light.

 

what grit of sand paper?

i'd just use a polishing compound on the spot... I wouldn't put sandpaper, even 3000 grit, on a stock paint job for something that small and unnoticeable. The clear coat from the factory is stupidly thin and if you burn through it - you're going to have a bad day.
