Mostly public now. Used to be all private. I had a great setup, my cousins had 4 blinds and I could call them at anytime and go hunting. If you didnt get a 4 man limit it was a bad day. They lost their 2 best spots and they just dont have the ducks in their remaining holes. Years ago they would shoot over 1000 ducks a year between them and their friends out of their holes. I think they said they shot 40 this year.

When I lived In Michigan my friends and I would Hunt Lake St. Clair or the Bay Area. All Public. Move to S. Carolina and there is Absolutely no place to Hunt You have to hunt on leased land or know someone that is willing to let you hunt their property.

Public land, which is getting smaller each year up here.. luckily rich people can’t buy the water! Nothing like hunting the lower water mark in front of a $750,000 home! It’s better when they harass us and call the cops, only to have the cops warn them hahaha

Mostly private land, but its going to get harder in the future to get permission. Most farms that are brought up forsale are getting picked up by foreign investors for cash (aka asian financing). The last two years, I've seen the bald eagle move in, ducks and geese divert when they are around. Have to wait and see what this year brings around.

I'd love to get into waterfowl hunting. I like to shoot trap, but my family was never really into the hunting like some others, and I've actually never been duck hunting. I would like to try it sometime though!

Nothing better than waterfowl hunting. Grew up in west TN and live in NC now, but still home every winter to hunt ducks/geese. Get out of the Corps in january and headed back to TN for real duck hunting lol, although it has been fun getting on divers out on the coastal inlets/rivers here sometimes. Only pics I have on this phone currently....20180913_103606.jpg 20180913_085116.jpg 11780.jpg

I don't have any problems with hunting, especially for birds with dogs, but you waterfowlers are looney.

Too much prep and gear for a single hunt and the hours are kind of awful.

You'll get no competition from me on ducks, geese, swans or cranes. Have at it boys!

Just found this thread… already counting down the days til Sep 11. Opening day of wood duck/teal in TN. Also a day of remembrance. I’ll throw up some of last year’s pics to try and get everybody motivated. Little public land hunt with my son. Don’t mind my buddy’s tacoma (at least it’s still a Yota).

Well I bought a dozen dekes on a preseason sale last weekend and I have been working to mount a longtail mud motor on my sneak boat. Counting down the days…

Anybody find any duck loads lately? Ya know, besides the 30$/box tungsten stuff. I'm sittin' ok but would feel better with another case or two. Any leads would be much appreciated, been looking.
