The first time :) Gotta scout it, ya know.

We hit over 100mph many, many times. Truck took it in stride.

Coming to this site and asking if you should buy a Ford over a Toyota is like asking a Red Sox fan if they are going to beat the Yankees. This group is heavily biased towards Toyota. Most of that is for a good reason, some of it is people just being brand whores. That's fine.

My point is, you're not going to get unbiased feedback here.

These threads make me laugh....the kool-aid drinking is real. Raptors are pretty badass and if the price is right I'd buy one. Sure I believe you have a higher chance of getting a "lemon" compared to a Tundra but I in no way think all Raptors/Fords are crap.

OP I think your buddy did alright....especially if he is happy with his purchase. Tell him to enjoy the truck but take those ugly stickers off! LOL

In 2010 paid $38,600 for extended cab. It had 9,000 miles on it. Yesterday it had 141,864 in it. Replaced brakes, fluids, and tune up that’s all I’ve ever done to it. When my son leaves for college in the fall I will get it back.

Haha I think he will! It’s been his dream truck for a few years now. As for the stickers...he took them off and replaced them with these, y’already know what kind of person he is

My sister has a 2011 or 2012 (can't remember). Good truck, but it is not an all-around truck. I like the shorter wheel base but not the shorter bed. She did have a transmission problem last year. Real fun to drive though and unlike the Tundra it knows what gear to be it, real smooth. I would never buy one though even if I could afford one. I have had 4 Toyota's between the wife and I and I've changed the oil basically.

Awesome story man, I hate to see these beasts sitting at the wholefoods parking lot looking all sad. Did you tell these tales to the buyer of the truck or was it describe more as "lightly used" and "garage kept"

Haha oh yes, full disclosure :D In fact, at the time I owned the largest Raptor specific forum on the net (have since sold it). The buyer bought it via that forum. The stories were wellll documented :) To my knowledge the buyer is out there beating on it just like I did, to this day.

Sounds like a plan. Tacomas were always too small for me to be an option. My head hits the a pillar and seats were non-height adjustable so that was a no-go for me

I’ve been in a raptor, not impressed, as well as other vehicles with fancy technology and I just really missed the simplicity of my 2014 limited tundra with a key to start and a radio. I’m not blind to the fact that Toyota has problems as well but they’ve had less problems than the other vehicle brands, they’re the best in reliability for a reason despite the politics bullshit we see on tv or JD ratings or whatever them ass kissing dick suckers put out. Friend of mine was surprised I’m on 70k miles stock brakes and rotors. My next purchase is a landcruiser maybe 2014-2016.

Land cruisers are great but strike me more as overpriced. The interior is also a little lacking even compared to the Tundra. I'd get a 4Runner before a Land Cruiser if I was money-concious. That being said, a Land Cruiser TRD PRO sounds like the best vehicle ever haha

It's a sweet looking truck. The only thing I'm not a fan on is the Raptor wrap job on the back side panels. We get it. It's a raptor. For the price gimme a Voodoo Blue TRD Tundra though.

Your friend will appreciate your Tundra when you shuttle him to the Ford shop to visit his Raptor while it's being repaired.
