    Hey All,

Brand new to the forum as well as a first time tundra owner!

Just purchased a 2018 Trd sport with sr5 package. Truck has just over 1500 on the motor and I've been hearing this slight squeaking noise coming from the front suspension area when going over small bumps this developed after the truck got a little dirty from recent thunderstorms in my area so not sure if it's just because the suspensions is a little dirty thats causing the squeak or what. Any insight would be awesome I haven't been able to find anything through research but would like to save myself a pointless trip to the dealership ;). Truck rides fine otherwise.

    Thanks!

My stock suspension was doing this as well. I thought it may be the skid plate as that seems to be a problem with some. But usually that is the TRD skid plate. I just have the standard stamped sheet metal version. I ended up lubing the front right coil spring after cleaning and it went away. But then it came back. I recently switched to used TRD pro suspension... and no more squeak! I want to say it has something to do with the isolator on top of the spring.

Either way it’s not going to hurt anything it’s just annoying. I had quit giving a crap about it because I just figured...Truck, fuck it. But I am happy that it went away LOL

I have a 2018 Limited with a little over 8100 miles. I have this same issue and have had it since right after my 5000 mile service. I was going to get it looked at when I go in for my next service at 10,000. My wife swears I am just being picky, but if you guys figure it out PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD POST IT. There is nothing I hate more than a squeak or rattle on something where there should be none.

I swear I have a similar issue, but I keep telling myself it's my son's car seat so I don't have to worry about it. However, to top it all off, my new canopy is squeaking like a SoB...

Just got mine two days ago and noticed the same squeak/pop. It sounds like it is coming from the drive front. I noticed with the wheels turned all the way the tires are really close to the fender liner. I'm wandering if that is what the noise is.

Ok, so after inspecting all the bolts and finding nothing wrong, I WD40 the hell out of my front suspension, engine bay etc. Any bolts I saw was sprayed. Empty the whole big can of WD40. Some squeak gone but some remains. Then I drove the truck for the rest of the day. All of the squeak is gone.

Looks like Rat swallowed the cricket and then i killed the effing rat. No more listening to loud music to ignore the squeaking sound.

When I bought my 2014 (after coming from a 08 limited) I loved the re-design. After a bit I heard a weird high patched squeaking coming from the front end. Usually happened when I pulled in a driveway, speed bump, or Really any small bump. I looked under the hood and when I hit the top of the grill I could replicate the sound.

Took it to the dealer and showed them. Turns out is was a loose horn bracket mounted just under the grill. They tightened it up and within a week or so it came back. Brought it back to the dealer and they opened a case on it. Turns out if was something defective horn mount. They did something that fixed it permanently.

I have had no problems with my 2018 sport squeaking.

    Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the replies sorry I didn't respond sooner. Here's an update I figured it out and fixed it!!! Ended up taking several trips to the dealership and they could never replicate the issue. I even had the quality control manager ride with me and he didn't truly know what for sure cause of the noise was, I found another thread on here that talked about a similar issue that was related to coolant tansmission mounts behind the grille. The mounts are located at the top of the grille on the passenger and driver side they are two silver bolts with a rubber bushing on the bottom, to test if the mounts are squeaky just pop the hood and lightly tap the top of the grill with your fist when the truck is off. After doing this I heard the squeak coming from this area so I grabbed some silicone spray and just lubed the bushings on both mounts then took the truck for a test drive NO MORE SQUEAKING!!! I was able to easily lube the bushings through the grill since I have the blacked out honeycomb grill.

It's been almost a month now still NO SQUEAKING!!!

Almost drove me nuts. It is adjusted too tight from the factory, if it starts again, just loosen the mounting bolts, let it sit more neutral, and tighten.

Yes, thank you! Same noise on my 18. Popped hood and tapped above the area you circled, sure enough squeaked like a mouse. Now just need to loosen it and try the fix. Fingers crossed.

mother of god, I hope this stops my issue to. I thought it may have been from the front sway bushing, which I replaced, and then it was still there, then I thought ok, maybe the shitty spacer for the leveling kit I had on, and finally upgraded the shocks, so no spacer anymore (which I wanted to do anyway), but sure enough still there, and yeah, only on my passenger side when the passenger side suspension goes over a bump through a drive way. I swear the squeak turns heads too. makes me crazy. Thanks for disclosing the fix, fingers crossed it's the same for me. i'll do back flips and cart wheels if it resolves the issue.

So I messed with mine over the weekend. The bolt does not thread into that funnel looking insert. I took the insert out and put the bolt back in. I'll see if my squeak is gone now on my drive home this afternoon.

i was convinced it was my suspension, specifically the sway bar bushings. All of everyone's posts, above, made me look to the center, behind the grill. During my search, I noticed the hood latch had missing paint and bare metal showing. I grabbed a dab of grease, just for testing purposes, and applied it on the latch loop, hood-side. Squeak gone. My wife's 4Runner had the exact same squeak, only 14 months old. Applied the grease....gone. Anyway, if you can't find it, make sure you look at the latch... at least to rule it out.

After months of searching I just found the two creaks and squeaks!

1: The windshield washer fluid hose that runs along the interior of the inner engine bay fender on the passenger side is moving and tapping the fender. Added an adapter and zip tie so there is no longer a tap and the wire can’t move. See the first photo?

2: The ‘louder’ creak was coming from the area that I thought was the windshield cowl and what looks to be the A/C lines or break lines, along the firewall. They each sit in a plastic bracket that is designed to keep them from moving, bending or touching each other. When I applied a little pressure to them, they all replicated the creaking sound. I generously hit each of the fixed mounts with a spray dry lubricant and the creak is gone. See photo 2?

Hopefully this can help someone else.
