2014 that has a cap on it, I’m thinking of replacing it with one that folds any suggestions.

Sometimes I carry some stuff that is bigger than the bed so trying to look at options for that. Have never had a hard cover on a truck since I usually put up a Thule rack. Kinda hard to get away from it also. Thanks for the notice on water getting into it with the tri-folds.

I get u. I went with the mx4 for that reason. It folds up when I need the bed and can be secured when driving so it stays open. I don’t complain about the water since I don’t keep things back there all the time. And if it rains(wich SoCal is not very much) I make sure I have nothing that can get ruined with water.

I have the BakFlip MX4. I don't get any wetness in there except when it really pours, and even then it’s only a very little bit.

I was looking in that BakFlip MX4 but need to get rid of this one first I guess, Don't even know how much this one should be let go for and how much have you guys paid for yours. I'm in SoCal also so the rain isn't really an issue.

I've got the mx4 also. Been happy with it for the past year or so. Mine also leaks a little in all four corners, but nothing major.

do you have the factory deck rail system? if so how does that work with the ultra flex? I would like to still be able to use the tie downs.

I do have the factory rail system, but unfortunately, you won’t be able to use the tie downs.

A good resale for your hard cover is usually half of new. Look up what new ones are going for and ask half that plus 100 on CL or here and accept a little less. White is a very common color and those covers are expensive when new. Don’t take it off til sold and help new owner install it on his rig.
    Good luck. D

bummer... thanks for the info though. I thought i saw one version (a pic from this forum somewhere) with brackets that lowered the factory deck rail. I am guessing that didn't come with it...

Yeah, the BakFlip MX4 comes with the lowering brackets... Bak Industries sells the brackets. Last I checked, the options only went up to 2015 and it would only give the option for the 6’6” bed length. I would contact them to make sure it’ll work with what you have. If you do contact them, let me know if they have brackets for a 2018 CrewMax .

MER- I talked to the BAK industries customer service and they confirmed this will fit all 3rd Gen Tundras. Nicole, the nice rep from BAK, said they only sell the full size bed kit and that also covers the crewmax bed size. I too have a 18 Limited Crewmax w/TRD OR. I would like to get the cover and the brackets soon, when I do I'll keep you posted how it works out and send some pics.

Thx. Just wondering though if you’re going with the BakFlip or UnderCover?

If you’re getting the UnderCover Ultra Flex like mine, just wondering how it would clamp on with the rails lowered? My UnderCover clamps onto the stock rails...

Well... that might change things. I was going to go with the undercover because I read through the installation instructions and it looked like it clamped to the bed. I wonder if when I order o can select no bed rail system and use the mount from BAK to make both work?

Thanks for the pic though this is helpful

You’re right. There is an option for with or without deck rails when you order the UnderCover... I’m thinking I would probably need the different hardware if I wanted to drop my rails.

I have one similar to that one, if you do keep, put some tape that has like a velvet texture on one side on the inside corners of it, as it'll start to rub on bed corners, I need to adjust mine, rubbing on paint

Well it took me a while but I finally got around to it.

The undercover ultra flex without deck rail installation works with the bak mx4 relocation kit. And the bedrug helps too...
