suddenly the nav and phone capabilities wont work on my 4runner Entune (premium JBL)

I start my car and the map display says "loading map..." and stays that way for as long as my car is on.
The phone doesn't connect, and if I press the phone button on the screen it says "waiting for bluetooth" and stays that way for as long as the car is on.

If I go to setup the NAV and PHONE buttons on the screen are "greyed out" and can not be selected.

Other functions that use Nav or phone dont work either (like weather, it gives the same "loading map...".

Anyone else seen this? any ideas on how to correct???

What type of phone do you have? Have you tried going into your bluetooth settings on the phone and seeing if the vehicle shows up?

how about unplugging battery for 15 min and reconnecting. It might reset on its own.

This issues happen lots lately, both Toyota and Lexus. I remember they said that the company who pushes out the updates didn't fully tested with all scenarios or something similar to that. One easy fix is to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes or so. Dealer will happy to do that for you.

Unhooked the battery, let it sit for about 20 min. Reconnected and it has the same issue.
(one thing I noticed is the sound settings (treble/mid/bass) that I had made were still there when I reconnected the battery). Not sure if this thing has a battery in it so it doesn't loose all its settings, and if so, then I didn't actually do anything at all....

yeah it's a possibility. You should have lost your settings if it reset.

Just an update. So, after 4 days or so of this problem and many drives in that time, I drove to a local store today and when I got back in my car to come home both the phone(Bluetooth) and Nav started working!
When I arrived at home, I stopped and started the car again and it worked a second time.
    W H Y !!!
I'm glad it's working, but what the heck?

We'll see for how long. Thanks all for your assistance!
