If you get the optiseal just start with the 2oz bottle. It'll coat your whole truck at least 4 times so just imagine how long itll last of you just use it for wheels lol. Also can be used on glass (need to buff it off quickly), interior and exterior plastics, chrome, as a drying aid, just one spray per panel... very versatile and it's highly concentrated so you need very little product.

You’re not going to get a lot of gloss from this product. I’ve topped it with a few different tire shines just playing around, but there’s probably not any benefit to using both.

That’s just my opinion. I know there are people who like it, but I didn’t. It didn’t spread well, looked bad, and wore off really fast. I used it once and gave it away.

As for wheel coating, I currently have Shine Supply Beadlock on mine, and am very happy with it, but it’s really expensive. I haven’t used much else to speak of. @briarpatch speaks very highly of McKee’s Wheel Coating. It’s much cheaper.

I was going to ask you if it was water based but I found the answer on the website. Water based is what you want. Oil based will actually dry out the tires and cause dry rot. If it's as good as you say, it sounds like a really good product.

"Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel is a thick, water-based formula for use on tires"

Are you asking about the tire sealant or the optiseal on the wheels?
I got pretty decent gloss from both

Opti-Bond Tire Gel is not good in my opinion. The product we’re recommending is “Optimum Tire Protection and Coating”. That said, it’s also water based.

My bad. No one posted a link to the actual product and I clearly found the wrong one!

McKees Wheel Coating is definitely good stuff. Like a lot of those products, a little goes a long way. I offer it as an up-sell to the occasional customer I get. Since I started using it, have not needed anything but soap and water to clean my wheels. As a side note, I was given some Poor Boys Wheel Sealant, which also works well....but with some of these more intricate wheels, is a lot more time consuming.

Save your waxaddict for the other plastic parts on the truck, it's getting hard to find and expensive to import. This optimum stuff is all you'll ever need for tires IMO unless you are going to a show or something and wanna have them super glossy

I'll have to look into these other wheel sealants. I like using hydro2 just for ease of use. Now I have dipped my wheels idk what to use really. I'm experimenting with different things to top the plastidip.

I agree that 2 coats is needed. It's tough to get 1 coat even. You can always top it with something with higher gloss once its cured. I'm a fan of the medium sheen on my tires

Optimum tire is the same price as rag. Haven't checked beadmaker....

    edit:
looks cheaper than the rag co
