What do you TOW with your Tundra?

The Cougar 29bhs - 17' model weighs 6700 lbs empty, but not all tandem ones weigh that much

 

Mines #5700 (with just shy of #1800 payload capacity - which I come nowhere near with what I pack for total GVW #7500) #620 tongue weight. Tows very well behind truck.

 

Where did you get the kayak carry?

 

My 22 foot tandem axle camper weighs in at 4300 dry and 7600 at max weight

 

Its just an INNO roof rack with J Racks. Ive actually switched from the J racks to the Malone Sea Wings.

 

Main duty for our Tundra is pulling a horse trailer. It does it well.

Could you elaborate on your trailer? I’m thinking of a rudimentary toyhauler to primarily haul atv’s / camp in vs a tent

 

8” lift, 37” tires, 32’ trailer fully loaded around 10k lbs rowing at 6mpg over a few mountain passes at 10k feet elevation makes for a well deserved weekend

 

We looked at small toy haulers for a couple years and just couldn’t get over the quality issues I was seeing, decided to build my own. 7’x14’ R&M trailer. It’s got heat and hot water with an outdoor shower small fridge and solar. When the bed is in the down position it aligns with the bench and it’s close to being a king size bed.

Might have been too much weight, but Betty White II handled it like a champ to the camp site....

Took it from Utah to Colorado for a week and it was awesome. Empty the trailer is around 3500lbs.

My hunting/fishing trailer an oldie but goodie. 22 foot hybrid, I think dry weight is like 3200 or something like that.

 

That Airstream looks freaking awesome. How does the Tundra handle it?

 

Not mine, but I'm sure you will like the optics.

 

Pic is my 2007 limited and my boat. I believe I need shocks. Any recommendations?

I've heard good things about Bilstein 5100's if you're staying stock or close to it.

 

What kind of Tonneau is that?

 

Shocks will not help that squat much. Its the springs. You need air bags.

 

His squat isn't bad at all. Trailer is pretty level as well. Maybe he will chime in if he is worried about the squat or if his rear end just oscillates more than he think it should.

 

I looked again and you're right its not too bad. Air bags would help level it completely which would be better. Thanks

 

This is last year when I towed my racecar to King of the Hammers. Probably 9-10k (2500 trailer, 5500 truck, + box of tools, 40s, spare tires, etc.). Drove from the Eastern Slope of Colorado to California. Truck was stock besides Eibachs, 35s, and Air Lift bags. Drove fine. Looking forward to how I tow my new buggy since I just supercharged the truck to help with towing.

 

So I just bought this camper today!! 33' kodiak. My tundra took this down the road with no problem. I just cant get over the power and control this truck has! These trucks are awesome!!

 

Nice camper. I have to agree that tundra has great power.
