Id say a bit but not much and now the sway bar sticks about 8" further off the back of the axle. it was the only way to get it to reach after the leaf swap.. The shock mounts hang super low so ill be chopping those soon and doing some off the axle tube instead which will also allow me to use my current kings and not go for extended

Now I understand the reason for mounting the sways that way. I’ll stick to the conventional way as I only have summo springs in the back.

Just noticed how high your rear is back there.

I got exactly what I asked for with these leafs at 3" on the passenger and 3.25 on the driver. Hardly squats with the current weight and ride buttery smooth. The test will be the TT this weekend.
Yea id always seen trucks mount them this way that were 6" plus and never understood it either until I got under there and just looked at it again. Id gone ahead and moved it this way before the leafs ever even made it to be built so it may have fit where it was in the original spot but I wasn't moving it back to find out haha. The other option was keep it in original spot, cut the connecting round bar from the bushing ends and weld in a new piece of round bar. Id probably have made it a little thicker as well. We will see how this method works out and revisit later if needed

going out to drop the rci skid plate so i can change the oil filter. the trap door is a great idea if you don't use hardware that rusts in place and is recessed allen head. took 20 minutes to get one out...other is just destroying my allen wrench. only been on since november so bit of a disappointment :(

I’ve noticed my heavy sliders actually smooth out my drive on payment and over speed bumps initially. Maybe a shackles upgrade over stock will make the ride even better

I feel like I noticed that as well when I was in my Tacoma.. not so much on either tundra ive had.. I cant wait to add filler plates to mine though, I finally laid out a filler design im happy with and cant wait to put into production on my sliders! Shackles shouldn't change your ride much if any, I had mine on the middle setting for 1" and they were fine. Ive always run shackles or rebuilt my leaf springs on any rig ive had. If I do anything next ill be upgrading bumps while im doing the shock mounts! That rear bumper you've got aughta help soften the ride up for you a good bit as well. Do you have the swaybar?

As for what ive done today, The gf and I swapped the tensioner and idler pulley and slapped on a new belt.. hopefully this gets rid of the awful belt squeal we've had. Also put in some new nutserts for the skid to bolt up. 3 of my 5 skid bolts were all chewed up and the nuts were stripped so I had to drill them all out and knock them loose from inside the frame but now the skid goes on easy as ever!

Took the truck out for a spin with the dh bike to a local gravel slope. Couldn’t help but take a pic of her after.

Not sure. I had someone do it for me. Didn’t trust myself to get that done to the level of quality i wanted done. Had him throw in some seat heaters while he was at it. Ill see if I can find out

It is in a burb north of Chicago in Highland Park. Lotta Frank Lloyd Wright homes in the area. Also close to the home alone house. If you ever up there with time to kill you should check it out!
