I need help/suggestions... I've got a 2018 TRD off-road with a 7" BDS lift. I upgraded rear shocks to the Fox shocks and added BDS UCA's to the front end. I've got the bilstein 4600's in the front that come stock with the TRD Off-Road. I've had my lift on for about a month and a half and just stared noticing terrible squeaking when going over speedbumps or uneven terrain at slow speeds. I had the lift re-torqued about 500 miles after installed and he said everything was still good and tight. Does anyone have this same problem or know what it could possibly be? TIA

I responded to your thread in the suspension section, I think it's the sway bar end links, that the issue I had with my 2011 and 2014 Tundras with the 7" BDS.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it would be seen through a general message thread so i double posted it. trying to get this figured out ASAP. Don't like hearing squeaking from a 3 month old truck. Thanks

I narrowed it down by removing the swar bar and BDS end links and going for a drive, the squeak went away. Or you can try lubricating them, but most lube attracts dirt so try to use a dry lube

I guess i will try lubricating. Sucks that you pay for what you think is a decent lift and the end links aren't worth shit.

I have the 2018 TRD Limited, with 4.5 BDS lift and fox coil overs. I pinpointed the squeak to the sway bar end links. Has anyone found a good cure for this noise other than lubricant? Love the lift, hate the squeak. I am blown away that a company would engineer a lift kit with metal on metal parts, especially because I thought I was buying a quality product.

I started diagnosis and took the sway bar off. Turns out the squeak was coming from the rear drivers side Ubolts being loose that go over the spacer block and lead spring. Tightened them up and now it has moved to the front. Sway bar still off. Back to the drawing board...

What about having someone drive in an open area slowly while you walk around to see where coming from, make them full lock turns forward reverse, up and down a sloped area like a drive way, mine does this, wasn't doing when I bought it, bought used and already had lift, bought with 26,000, now at 68,000 making all kinds of noises, betting all lift components need to be re torqued

That’s kind of what I was thinking too is to re-torque the front end components. Atleast to start with... like I said, those ubolts weren’t exactly in spec, call for 100-120ft-lbs and I had several turns before I even hit 100ft-lbs.

Had the same issue on my 2017. Thought it was the sway bar end links, then after replacing them I heard more noise and readjusted the sway bar. Those sleeves were contacting the sway bar connects to the frame. Readjusted them and voila!

Not sure if this would work but I would try spray lubricant in different areas "one at a time"...

    Update:
Its been a month. We've been camping in northern Arizona where the mud is clay like. With recent rains the mud pits were everywhere and unavoidable in many cases due to the dense forest. Of course the Tundra pulled through. Got her home and pressure washed her for over an hour and there's still mud under there.. Mudded out my driveway and neighbors gutters lol.. Long story short.. after all of that, the grease is working perfectly and still no squeaking from the sway bar links.

I have a 2011 tundra with the BDS lift and I too have the same squeaking discussed. I’ll try to put Li grease on the end links.

Also, can anyone confirm that the end links are supposed to have some form of rubber bushings aside from the bushing that’s is on the link itself?

Sorry to revive this but I have the bds 7 inch lift too and the squeak has been driving me crazy. It gets worse after mudding and stuff which I know has to be dirt in a metal to metal point and I’m wondering if it’s my sway bar links too. For you guys that greased it and it went away, you didn’t remove the sway bar to grease it did you? Just rub some all over pretty much?

Had the exact issue on my 2012 with the same lift. First thing, disconnect the sway bar links and drive it. See if that stops the squeak. I changed my rod end to rod ends with grease zerk fittings sold by Purvis Bearing (https://www.purvisindustries.com/) . If squeak doesn't stop, then removed the skid plate. There are 2 vertical bolts (nuts on the top) attached to the frame. Make sure those are tight. Mine were lose and the squeak turned into a slight knock after some time when turning the wheels from full lock left to right and back. With the skid plate off and me lying under the truck, my brother turned the wheel left to right and you could barely see the boxed part move ever so slightly. It was very unnerving to me. I tightened the EFF out of them and never had another issue for the next 50k miles til I sold it. The new owner, and coworker hasn't had any issue at all with it.

See post #1 here for a pic (that is my post BTW).

Hell yeah bro I appreciate it, I haven’t had a chance to mess with mine yet since I’m out of town for the week for work but I’ll definitely check it out once I’m back!

I have a 4.5" BDS lift on my 2015 and it's such a huge pain. I have the truck for a year and I've already replaced the heim joints on both sides, outer tie rod ends, and now the rear shocks are starting to squeak pretty badly.

I live a long way from a company that can service a BDS lift, so having parts replaced is about a 7-8 hour round trip, plus however long it takes to replace the parts. You would think for the price and claims of the lift, it would be able to hold up to daily driving, but it just isn't. If it wouldn't cost so much, I would have scrapped it a long time ago.
