Sorry, didnt see this posted elsewhere so if this is a repost I apologize.

Anyone have any familiarity or experience with the different Line-X levels? Standard, Premium and Platinum.

Sounds like the biggest difference is UV resistance and then like max durability. Does the Standard Line-X fade quickly or look worn out after a while? Cant say that Ive ever paid much attention.

    Thanks!

Yeah, you're in SoCal so, unless you keep a shell or tonneau on it, it will fade to grey if you don't get the UV protectant.

Thank you. I was leaning that way but have zero experience with the spray ins.

Now... do I go super fancy and do the XTRA color match?? probably not haha

I don't do colours 'cause it might nearly match at the start, but everything fades. If you go black with UV protection, it'll stay looking nearly black a long time!

The color is a top coat over the linex and is UV stable, it won’t fade however some colors don’t “show” well given the nature of linex surface such as silver. About the only “bad” color would be white, it will eventually yellow.

Just a heads up "Clutch" by shine supply
will restore your faded to grey line-x back to gloss black. You have to try it yourself to really understand. (it also does well on black plastic) i did my bumper end caps with it and then center bumper with regular back to black and a year later the center is fully gray and the caps are still darker (not new dark) but darker than the non "Clutch" ones.

That being said I wish i had the UV protector version as perfer the bed stays dark without having to use additional chemicals.

I had no idea that could be used for bed liners! How did you apply it? Just spray and let cure in sun or over night?

Shine Supply posted a few pictures on their Instagram last week showing how great clutch works on a faded bed liner. Pretty impressive.

The boat cap was shot 3 years ago with Line-X Premium with top coat to color match my specifications. It's been stored outside for the last 3 years and still looks just as good as the day it was shot. cid_38.jpg cid_40.jpg cid_41.jpg
