Exactly the reason I went Limited! There is only I believe 4 color choices with the platinum.

I love my limited seats but I never sat in a platinum... man you guys make me think I'm riding coach when you're all in executive class! I spent about 1K on color matching parts FWIW but my wife was very disappointed that I didn't get a moon roof. She's got the moon roof in her Highlander and we love it.

Im pretty sure the resale price on the Platinum is usually higher solely because it was originally priced higher. If he is trading in, the only thing certain is the dealership will rip him off, regardless of trim level lol

Windows open = significant amount of pollen/dust in the car. I rarely need to dust off my dashboard or leather seats because I just use the climate control the truck came with. In my experience, even when I left moon roof glass closed and just enjoyed the extra sunlight, I ended up feeling too hot from the direct sunlight. The factory tint is just not dark enough. I know smokers really love the moon roof. Shit I would too if I were a smoker

Never thought about that... we never actually open the moon roof just like the light it brings in when we slide back the cover. Except we're getting to the time of year in Phoenix where that thing is closed 'til November

For $2k Platinum. The genuine leather seats alone are worth it. I'd highly consider what @TuFerLife did if I could redo though. SR5 TRD Sport and add Katskins. I saw his seats yesterday and good Lord they are QUALITY

There really is a pretty good difference. Being that Platinum seats are genuine leather vs a vinyl blend they are considerably softer to sit on. Platinum also has the extendable front area under seat like sequoia for long legged people on long drives. However I realize I drive 30k miles a year and it may matter more to me than the average driver.

Pictures do not do these justice. The quality is second to none and they are more comfortable than Platinum. Another benefit to TRD Sport is everything comes color matched. No chrome anywhere.

These are actually really nice. I wouldn't take them over the TRD Pro black leather with red stitching, but I would definitely take them over Platinum seats. Did someone say these are heated and cooled as well?!!

Impressive. I wont lie, I'm jealous. I wish there was a way to add the heated and cooled seat option to the Pro seats. If I had known this before and had the TRD Pro and the SR5 in front of me, I may have gone with the SR5 and simply chosen the black leather with red stitch option. Yea I wouldn't have the dash and door panel matching leather the TRD Pro comes with but I would get the heated and cooled seats! Sounds like a win to me

Beautiful part about Katzkin is you can make them look however you want.

But yes, they’re heated and cooled.

I decided to not get a tundra yet. Still driving my un-manly 2017 Honda Ridgeline. I just couldn’t get pass dropping $44k and not get smart key and push start button. Hopefully Toyota add those soon.

Very wise choice! The 2020 will have both smart key and push start along with apple car play. Honestly if I were you, I’d wait until late 2021 when the next generation Tundra is out. Best case scenario you love it and purchase. Worst case scenario, the prices on the 3rd gen Tundras all drop and you get better deal! One thing is for certain, the next gen Tundra will have better gas mileage

I'm not a fan of push start. It feels more 'truck' like to jam in a key and turn it. Pushbutton reminds me of my old prius...

I would have got a Platinum but the 6.5 ft bed on the double cab was more important to me then the Crew Max with the 5.5 bed. As far as the seats goes i just did a 600 mile trip with my limited and the seats were very comfortable for myself and my wife. If you mostly carry people get the platinum if you carry stuff in the bed more then people get the limited

Can someone explain to me the differences in the consoles? I keep seeing this brought up. Is there a different console in the SR5 - Limited - Platinum? I am heavily leaning towards a cement limited TRD 4x4 with TRD options but now you have me thinking of the Platinum (problem is I love the cement color). Also, Platinum's don't come with the TRD package correct? This may sound dumb but is it a given that they already come with the standard TRD accessories (shocks etc.) it just doesn't have the bedside sticker calling it out?

Katzkin is a better option than fabric but they are not high quality. They typically tear/crack and show wear far sooner than nearly all manufacturers
factory leather/vinyl. Especially the outside panel of the seats. I do like katzkinz because i make a ton of money repairing the tears in them.

If you haven't as suggested before drive both and see which one you prefer. I personally found the limited seats to be more comfortable to my behind over the Platinum. Even though I did like the platinum seats appearance and upgrades more. But I had to go with overall comfort as I drive a lot. The truck I bought my Tundra to replace was an 08 Tacoma with 237k on it.

Im going to partially agree with you on that. I doubt the katzkin leather is more durable than the Limited leather. However, the leather on the 1794, is probably worse than the katzkin as far a durability goes. Any leather that is wearing down to a completely different color within 1-2 years is simply not worth it. Not to mention what happens to it if you lightly scratch them. Its just so paper thin they show the wear and any scratches immediately

    2017 Tundra TSS 4x4
At what sacrifice? They ruined the Tacoma for 1 MPG. Hopefully they don't do that with the Tundra. I probably wont need to worry about it. Unless I work longer than planned or it is totalled my 2017 may be my last.
