    still looking!
Hi everyone. A never-before but hopefully soon-to-be Tundra owner here with a couple of questions.

I've spent the last month looking at Tundras, I finally found one that was perfect for me. However it's a Canadian (Nova Scotia) import with a virtually blank Carfax. Not only that but apparently it's an SR5 with a moonroof and heated seats. So my questions:

    1) How much should I trust a blank Carfax? Carproof is closed today but I'm calling them tomorrow to get some more information. Even then they only have 7 records for this truck. Does anyone have any strong feelings either way about imported used Tundras from Canada?

    2) In all my searching I have yet to come across an SR5 with a moonroof and heated seats. Is this a very rare setup or did someone make a mistake in the ad.

Thank you for the help and I look forward to contributing soon!

Take to a garage or dealer have them inspect it.
    I don't trust carfax.

I've looked at loads of carfaxes lately and I've ran into quite a few that were sketchy for sure. It definitely not the only thing I'm relying on.

Welcome! The lack of service records can is concerning. I would have to drive and inspect thoroughly to get a better feel for it.

If an owner doesn't repair the car with insurance money and the body shop doesn't report an accident, there will not be a report on carfax.
I was shopping for a car years ago, the sales person showed me the carfax, it was clean.
I opened the trunk and notices all sorts of body repair. Def had been in a wreck.

Probably missing the higher trim name. Neither Base SR5 or SR5 Plus have sunroof or leather. Bonus if it has the larger 38gal tank. Have it inspected, snows a lot in Eastern Canada, lots of salt exposure, coastal. Vehicles can have clean Carfax up here if body work is done privately, it’s not uncommon so the owner’s insurance rate doesn’t go up.
