Crewmax Platinum stereo and auto start

Hey folks!

I recently bought a 16 Tundra Platinum crewmax. A few questions:
1. Thoughts on the factory autostart option? I had it installed and it behaves weird. Sometimes the lights freak out like the alarm is going off, other times it doesn't want to unlock from the FOB.
2. Stereo upgrades. I'm thinking of adding a sub box behind the seat in back. Has anyone done anything like this using the factory head unit?
3. Towing mirrors with blind spot and turn signals. I know there are some aftermarket options out there. Who's used what and what do they like.

Have you tried replacing the battery in the key fob?
Yes it can be done!
Yes aftermarket have all the added features for tow mirrors. I believe there was thread about this not too long ago.

 

If the horn is blowing when you try to remote start while it’s locked something is wrong. Try unlocking the truck first then using the remote start. If it doesn’t freak out, then the system was improperly installed.

 

The horn isn't making any noise. About half the time all the lights are blinking and it doesn't want to let me in with the unlock. I haven't replaced the battery but as I'm able to lock/unlock/start the truck from nearly 100 yards away I'm thinking it's not a failing battery.

 

For aftermarket audio options, I very much like OEM Audio+. They make solutions for JBL equipped Tundras using the factory head unit. Sound quality is very good, but do not expect it to blow your doors off in terms of base. Think more in terms of audiophile sound.

 

I may be interested in your factory mirrors if you do end up installing the tow mirrors. I put power-fold mirrors on my '18 Limited that came off of a '12 Limited, but the passenger side stop is busted and it doesn't stop moving until it taps the window.

 

I will post my mirrors up here when I get to swapping them out.
