So I have the Stoptech pad and rotor kit from RockAuto and watching some videos and looking at writeups here I question the pads, specifically with OEM there are two anti-squeak shims per side on the front pads, but the Stoptech ceramic have one metal plate clipped to the pad and no 2nd shim plate.
Is it recommended to add the shims with their kits, or roll with what is clipped to the new pads?

Also can I re-use the slide pins and caliper bolts or do those need replacing also?
Thanks in advance! I have had al sorts of medical issues and am sweating this being done just by me in a driveway so I plan to take my time and not kill myself, but want to do it once.

Exhaust Dirty Deeds 8”SS, some led lights, Osram headlights, Pro Stop brakes, Pop Lock, AFE dry air filter with charcoal delete.
The pins and clips clean them and reuse, if you’re going with aftermarket pads use the shims for those pads. FYI keep your old shims just in case you want to go back to OEM in the future.

I ended up gettting a kit at the parts store, the stock ones were pretty rusty. I also tossed the shims they were beyond saving, just went with what was on the Stoptech kit.
    Awesome brakes!!

    Thank you!
