I'm getting real close to getting my truck and doing the mods(come on Dec)!. First will be the lift. Besides looks and tire sizes, is there any real difference between going with 2-1 vs 3-1 lift? Also with the 3-1 lift dealership wants to throw on some 325/60/18's, while at Discount tire they are recommending some 285/65/18's. How big of a difference in tire size is this? Seems like a lot bigger tire to me.

From what I understand Levelling kit's are either 2-0 or 3-1. As for tires, I talked to a company yesterday and they recommended a 305 width although I'm going with 20x9 rims with a +18 offset. They said this would fit comfortably under a 3" lift without having to modify. My Tundra came with premium 20" rims and I have 275/55-20 Toyo AT2 Open Country tires.

325 is a wide ass tire (almost 13 inches), 285 is 11.2 inches wide. With a stock rim, I'd recommend spidertraxx spacers especially with a 325 wide tire.

I prefer the 3/1 look. 2 inch lift still seems stock to me.

I've got 2.5" lift with 295s mounted on 20x9 +18...I had rubbing and needed to do some work to the fender liner. What tire size is that 305 going to be? Mine's a 34.29" x 11.5"(per Cooper's website)

Law, that I'm not sure about. Will have to check. He knows though I want the tires to be even with the wheel well or slightly outside.

According to their website, the least aggressive offset on the GD1s in a 18x9 is +18. +18 will definitely sit outside of your fender, not terrible amounts, but it will. Mine do, and again, I'm on a 295 tire.

That would also depend on the wheel width. With a +25 offset, 285 would be about flush and 325 would sit about an inch or so out.

I just looked them up. Looks like the offset you're probably going to end up with is +18. So the 285's are going to sit about an inch outside the fender, the 325's will stick out about two inches.

@louscrw is right. His 295's are about a quarter inch wider than the 285's

Law he said they are 325/60/18's
Thanks for the info, an inch is doable.

a 325 is about an 1" wider than my 295 (25mm = 1 inch). In the picture, you can see how much my 295's stick out with a +18 wheel...so, yours will be an inch out further than mine

I'm talking about the width. The first number is width 325 (13 inches) / tread wall height 60 (comes out to be 33 inches tall altogether) / radius of wheel (18 inch rim)
@louscrw has skinnier tires than a 325 (1 inch as he said) so yours will stick a good bit outside the fender. That'll either dictate fender flares or a scratched up side from rocks and debris from the road/trail.

The 285's will stick out about an inch but the 325's will stick out a helluva lot further.

That's gonna stick out way too far. Can you even put a 325 onto a 9" wheel?

I think a 3-2 would be a little better giving you a touch of rake. Which will help when towing or hauling. Just my opinion.

The OP (BTW was 7 years ago) was asking about 325/60/18. Not 325/60/20.

    325/60/18 is 33.33”
    325/60/20 is 35.33”
