Truck went in this morning. On the way there the sensor went on and off and gave me the dirty or malfunction alert multiple times. Hope there is a proper fix. I want to lift it soon and don't want to have my wheels tires and suspension lay around for something so absurd on a brand new truck.

Update: So after the campaign update and being in the dealership twice, the TSS Sensor still malfunctions and still says it is dirty. My dealership has booked me in on the 29th to have it diagnosed for 4 days and have a toyota regional tech come test the truck. I have emailed toyota Canada as well.

Haven't been on here in a while, I've had the thing shut off a couple times and the "brake" warning come on a few times for no reason, but it didn't occur enough for me to care. I had the recall done and haven't noticed it since, but it never was much of an issue. I've got a little over 26,000 miles on my '18.

So, Toyota Canada sent a rep down to check my truck out. He determined that the sensor itself is faulty and has water inside of it causing moisture when the sun hits it messing up the system and making the light turn on. They agreed to replace the sensor however, it is on back order and they'll call when the part is in.

There is an open recall for all systems on the tundras. They are on back order right now. I just went to my dealership last week and they ordered the new item for me. If you are having issues not caused by rake or lift then call your local dealership and get it ordered.

Here is what I do not understand, so someone please educate me if needed..

The recall is due to a faulty seal on a sensor from what I understand that lets moisture into the sensor and causes false readings, correct?

If that's the case then how can Toyota say that they will not warranty a vehicle that has been lifted or leveled with non Toyota parts or even parts that are Toyota but not specific to the model they are installed on?

When the recall has nothing to do with suspension parts at all.

Sounds like they are not sure what to do and are grasping at straws.

I have a 2019 with 3500 miles so far and thankfully no issues. All stock at the moment

Just bought a 19... no issues yet, but it only has 150 miles on it so far so don’t count my vote!

They did apply the above TSB above which keeps the PCS from defaulting to on after each ignition cycle, they did it for free for me when I bought the truck. Just glad I knew about it from this thread and was able to ask. Doesn’t matter much at this point, as plan on leaving it on. Figured I might be glad I did it once I get around to my 3-4” lift. Want to work through the first 20-30k miles on this truck before I get crazy with a lift though.

I have a 2018 Tundra. I've had a few issues here and there. Maybe 3-4 episodes where the "Brake" light came on. One was on a curved road with oncoming traffic. The others were random, straight highway with nothing in front of me. I have seen several "clean sensor" warnings (with a clean sensor tho). Completely random.

The other day I power washed the truck and had the 'clean sensor' light come on. A day later I swapped the grille and a new (but different) emblem and I've had several issues since. Some of that is on me but I've had other issues before that as well. Other than a cap the truck is stock.

PS - I have also had issues off road with various warning lights but never gave that much thought (and not part of the issues above).

Trucks been great. Warranty work resulted in an updated vented sensor which my advisor stated that the seal is not needed for on my truck as well as a reflash and ecu update. No issues for 1000 kms driven in rain and shine.

What off-road issues have you had? I bought this truck for off-road use and want to make sure to set my expectations where they should be before going crazy with lift/tires/re-gear/rear air locker

I take the truck on the beach, several times I've - warning messages - PCS unavailable, don't remember the other one. Restart the truck once back on the pavement and everything is back to normal.

Check your VIN for the recall to see if it was done. Then go get gas.

Well, no open recall on my truck per the Toyota website. And yes, trying to squeeze 600 miles out of a tank of gas has become a real nail biter!

Still under warranty. You can try the dealer. But if it comes in and stays on, make sure you go to the dealer with it on or they probably won’t look at it. If it comes in then goes off, take a video of it to the dealer.

I too was coming up on a car that was turning slowly and it lit the brake light up as well, but it didn't actually brake.

Same problem and No recall, bought my Tundra SR5 TRD off road August 2nd . Vehicle was built Feb. 2019. No mods. I am having the problem with the PCS collision dashboard light and yellow triangle on in the rain today (did not turn off till I shut the vehicle off and restarted), also the Radar is unavailable when I attempted to use the cruise control.
Called Toyota, my vin number is not on the list for the special service campaign, went ahead and and got a claim number. On my own I'm taking it in the dealer for diagnostics tomorrow.

Mine turns off in the rain. I think that’s common as the radar doesn’t work with rain. Mine always comes back on though on its own.

Had a 2.5" level kit put on along with wheels and tires today. Now dealing with all these lights on. Front is little higher than rear but I've never had them come on when I pulled it up on my ramps and started it. Why would all these lights be on?

Mine does the exact same thing. I had a 2018 Camry rental with the TSS and it did the same thing turned off in rain and turned back on...seems to be a generic issue with TSS And rain.

My 2018 Tundra has not done this since the update. Did it once but some fool changed 2 lanes and cut right in front of me and the system worked correctly.

My wife’s 2019 Honda Pilot does it like 2-3 times a week. Super annoying..
